I had no problem getting info on my coach before purchase, but it had never been sold before and was still sitting on the dealers lot, so I imagine that made a difference.
In any event, it is very nice to have whatever info you can get…the more the better!

Jon- your correct in your thinking.
Prevost- what’s the big secret? Having to get the previous owners permission is rediculous. I’ve heard of Patient/Doctor and Attorney/Client confidentiality but Mechanic/Owner??????????? Please explain the reasoning here.
My bus I knew the previous owner and I talked to him before buying. In the process of finding out what I had I looked in every space I could find and I found info on the first owner (canada), maybe a second or third owner (no one home anymore), so my quess is that I am the Fifth owner. That’s a lot of permission slips to get for info.
My quess again is that it was maintained by Prevost and or Beaver but what was done I have no idea. I did run into a guy I thought had a Beaver/Prevost (his bus had Beaver etched windows) only to find out that he was at Mira Loma many years back and a guy (owner before me) was having all the windows replaced in his Beaver Bus. He also had the small RV style windows converted to the standard Prevost awning windows, all six of which leak water. Mira Loma would not tell me if they installed the windows, which most likely they did since not many people would drive one of these buses with all the windows out.

Why Karl, I would never insinuate that the Liberty guys do anything other than impeccable work while using the latest products to obtain their goal at hand.

Hey there rob, it’s really up to you how often you have your coaches wheels polished. We do some entertainer coaches wheels as often as every 3 weeks. It just depends on the amount of shine you desire. The stainless on your coach takes alot longer to succumb to the elements and will require years for the metal to “oxidize” or “turn”. Both are polished using heavy duty buffing supplies that you can’t just run down the street and pick up, if you know what I mean.

I think we have a buyer. Quicker than I had planned on. Also a list of let me know if it doesn’t go thru. Always need a plan B. Coach features 15 ft salon slide 8ft Bedroom slide Island kitchen smooth cook top Granite floors set with brass 3 refers outside entertainment center and much more. I will list if things don’t go thru. Bob

OK, let’s try the pictures again.
Here is the bracket on the exhaust pipe…
Th is the bracket mounted to the bus. It still has the rubber piece attatched….
This is the temporary fix for travel only… The bungie strap was for insurance…

A big Thanks for Jon & Tom for the Prevost Community

Jon: Glad to hear you had good results with the Wicked Polish. It is good stuff, but as we all know things change.
Breaking news: The latest and greatest wheel polish I have found lately is available in the Truck Tool Box Departent at Lowes Home Improvement Store. It is a little bottle of Tool Box polish and it does super on the Rims with very little elbow grease.
All I need now is someone to wash the bus and use the polish.

I suspect fuel mileage will be almost identical to what most of us with Series 60 engines gets. There is going to be a slight benefit to running a lower RPM at 70 MPH, but when all factors that influence mileage are considered the biggies still remain and they are speed (the headwind as we go faster takes a lot of HP), weight, hills, etc.
The transmission with more gears however does keep the engine RPM in the sweet spot so some mileage gains can be expected, but I doubt if they will be as significant as it might seem. I do know from keeping detailed records that measuring mileage and getting accurate data takes several months and lots of refueling. The variations from tank to tank can be as much as 20 to 30 gallons, but over 5000 to 10000 miles of driving the data is fairly accurate. In my coach the ProDriver is very accurate but not all coaches have a ProDriver.
Bottom line however is that is a sweet combination of engine and transmission and it is going to be far more reliable than the six speed transmissions.

Don’t forget Myrtle Beach April 30th to May 5th, it’s going to be a good time with plenty to do in the area.

This is just a guess at what I would do, so don’t consider this to be necessarily the right answer. I would start by seeking local charter coach companies and asking if they do repairs, or if they can recommend radiator service. I would also ask the same question of Prevost.

Maybe I will rethink the awning uprade or as it seems downgrade I do not have any trouble with Girards, If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
