You can run 2 AC’s on inverter power (bad idea) and yours may be setup to run the front AC and bedroom AC it varies by coach, that button allows you to switch from the bedroom AC to the galley AC, or vice versa.

If you have a single 50DN alternator the chassis batteries will handle the problem if the Li shuts down.

Unless something is wrong I do not understand how the BMS will shut down charging current if you have a dedicated house alternator. Inverters go to float, and an alternator, unless it has a high voltage output never puts a full charge in the house batteries.

Keep us posted because I think you are plowing new ground.

Art I bought that exact model earlier this year, after a transformer issue at a FL campground resulted in pedestal volts about 100-104 per leg.

Wish I had it then, although may not be able to compensate that much – but any would have been helpful.

Only used it once and no issues with park power.

Here is what’s on my bus, DD 60 series. Autozone sells Dayco Products, or amazon and ebay.

The spring loaded tensioner arm w/idler is Dayco#89417 or DD#23533015

The other day I saw on ebay the complete alternator belt tensioner kit #23527060 for $650. Detroit gets $1600 for the same thing.

No Dick in NOV of 19 I posted a guy did a full gainer out of a bus in Nashville.

Ever since then staying in a raised bus is a no no.

You must feel lucky letting someone work on your bus and not being able to look in occasionally.

weve had experience with our most recent previous coach with Pacific Detroit Diesel/Allison on Roberts Rd Coburg. Our last coach received a new transmission/ rear main etc after catastrophic flywheel issue. During our pre-purchase inspection, they ran the full multi page motor diagnostics.

90975 Roberts Rd is .9 miles from Marathon. 541-225-2020

Mr Newel bought the California company in 1967, moved it to Miami Oklahoma. I believe their recent annual production is 24-28 coaches a year.

October 4, 2019 at 2:24 pm in reply to: Upgraded LED Forward Lighting for Prevost XL/XLV

Thank you to everyone for the positive feedback on my one-off forward LED lighting upgrade. Based on the overwhelming interest in this solution, I am pursuing the creation of a self-install kit of the highest quality. The bar is set high by Gil Johnson with his excellent rear LED upgrade kit which evolved over several iterations in his quest for the perfect solution. I want my end result to be of equal quality in design, fabrication, finish, and user experience (both for self-install and long-term use).

I am ordering a set of the newest version of the JW Speaker 5×7 LED headlights to swap in (the ones I own today are the first generation). After receiving these I plan on filming a 4K night driving video with my GoPro showing the quality of the lighting solution using the current generation of the JW Speaker 5×7 LED headlights. If people are excited about the daytime photos they will be even more excited by the night driving videos! That is the main reason for the upgrade.

I am working with a local resource to do a high-resolution laser 3D scan of the front of the coach with and without the factory headlight bezels along with the bezels themselves. If I have time I will also have a full 3D scan of the coach exterior performed to help with future upgrades. I might be the first to have a full 3D model of the XLV since the technology didn’t exist when the coaches were built. I am also searching salvage yards for a pair of front headlight bezels even if they are all scuffed up to have a second set to use for setting tolerances. The only risk I have in repeating this in a production process is the potential deviation between parts installed by Prevost. The tighter their tolerances are, the tighter mine can be.

I will use AutoDesk Inventor to fine-tune my design in a 3D model including tolerances, gaps, etc. This will be used to create production ready parts that can be sent to my fabricator’s laser cutting table that will do most of the work (on pre-polished sheets of stainless for the final trim/fascia), before the parts go through the forming/welding/assembly steps. This will cut down production time significantly, but will require certain minimums to minimize waste.

I am also working on volume discounts and price breaks for the fixtures from the manufacturers or their master distributors.

I will keep this thread updated as the process of creating the kit develops.

On our coach, I believe the 110 Heat button in our bedroom panel must be

selected and you have to double tap the heat button on the galley SMX pad.

This is from our SMX manual:

    Auxiliary Heat
    (Factory set: disabled)
Normally, the aux heat function is disabled, so that the
compressor runs in reverse cycle heating mode without aux
heat. When aux heat is enabled (see below), press the HEAT key
once to run Reverse-Cycle heating only. Press the HEAT key
twice quickly to run aux heat.
To enable or disable aux heat:
    • Enter the programming mode:
    Press OFF.
    Press SET.
    • Press HEAT and SET simultaneously.
    • Use the UP or DOWN key to toggle the aux heat on or off. When
aux heat is enabled the letters AH will be displayed . When aux
heat is disabled, the Null sign (–) will appear.
    • Press OFF to exit the programming mode.

You can have Roger at Signature Coachworks in Beaumont look at it.

His location is Marathons old location and he worked for them for many years.

Prevost in Mira Loma can do a DMI inspection on the chassis, ask Delene. I have my Marathon at Prevost in Mira Loma now.

I have not used Roger yet but know people that have and they all say good things. I have spoken to him and emailed him and he has helped me with a few questions and I will be taking my Marathon to him in a couple of weeks.

If you go to them let them know Frank from Western Auto referred them to you.

Good luck on your new purchase, I might have a 2001 Marathon XL2 ( Prevost panels repaired completed) for sale later this year or early next year.
