Rick, you are correct, there is a valve under that cap that you can operate with a 1/4″ wrench or square-drive socket. I am just surprised that the port on the top (under the black plastic cap) does not have a spring-loaded valve stem/check ball in it as the gauge ports on the compressor do.

How is anyone that does not have a fleet of 200 buses or trucks even capable of providing accurate information evaluating tires?
Members here are lucky if they replace tires every 5 years and that does not begin to count as enough experience to evaluate tires.
On the other hand Prevost works extensively with Michelin and engineers the coach and tires to work in concert with one another. I see no reason to ignore that combined expertise and have the opinion if that is what Prevost provides as original equipment I would want to stick with it.

Getting from our summer home in So. OR to our winter home in Yuma, AZ, most often requires driving the length of CA on the I5. Since we tow, the speed limit is a very leisurely 55 MPH so driving faster is not an option. At a 55-58 pace mileage is 8.5 or better and the coach is much quieter………because the co-pilot is less often trying to second guess every driver on the road!

John, I have the same looking headlights as you, I have an ’06 H Marathon.
one of my low beams stopped working and I am unable to match the bulb to any of the selections on numerous web sites. This stuff become Obsolete in a short time and the consumer is left scratching their head.
only help I have received is ” install a NEW upgrade kit”. Well isn’t that special. -
Thats good news. Looking back at your thread i like the thought process with the cheap regulator with the spare and improving the accessibility. You already gave the expensive one a try, right?. Good stuff.

To connect a 12volt charger to the Vanner as shown in Don’s photo.
Or to get a second 12 volt charger and connect them:
Putting 1 charger on the bottom right battery and 1 charger on the top right battery.

The braided line from top of alternator going to front/visible side of engine cover in last pic is the vent line. That is the updated line location, original installation went to back of front cover (next to last pic). I think that’s what you’re asking.
Your next to last pic shows the old braided vent line location. Last pic shows the revised newer location.
The small metal line in pic is oil feed line to front of alternator, tees from the rear oil feed.
Oil drain line is much larger 1″ or so and attaches to bottom of alternator case.

My Bus has two alternators Both 24 VDC. One is the Engine Mounted 50DN, and the second is a pulley driven under the AC Compressor. My Country Coach Build sheet shows a 12V Pulley driven, and my Prevost Build sheet shows the 50DN. I have one vanner, there was originally 2, open space for the missing one, and I do have a 12V Delco Remy Voltage regulator also. The only thinng i have confirmed as of right now is the Pulley driven Alternator is putting out 24 VDC. I am interested in finding a schematic or some document, or someone that has a bus around my vintage showing how my bus should be configured, I also know for a fact I do not have 12 VDC on the 2/0 cable coming into my house Batteries. That wire is labeled and it measure 0VDC with the engine running.

I do not know how convenient this would be for you but the go-to folks for inverters are Inverter Service, advertisers on PC. They know our coaches, they are experts on inverters, and have participated in PC seminars. I strongly recommend them.
