  • I wish my water/holding tank gauges worked!

Posted by Dick on July 2, 2021 at 10:52 am

We’re at Road America for three days without water/sewer hookups. 200 gallon fresh water/175 gallon holding tank.

My wife is convinced we’ll run out of water before Sunday night. I feel like she’s got me talking a shower with a Turkey baster.

Dick, This may be an easy temporary solution to monitor your water use. I put one after the pump in my plastic coach. Worked good.

If you run out of fresh water or holding tank capacity in 3 days your problem is not with a bad sensor.

Are you able to use the bypass there, Dick?

Speaking of water volume, does anyone have a feel for how much water the headhunter toilets use per flush? It sounds like it uses a fire hose worth…

Jeff: I will check that out.

Jon: that goes without saying. I’m thinking when we get home I’m going pull out a chair next to the water bay, have her sit in it, and dump fresh water so she can see just how much is left in the tank.

Robert: I normally bypass every opportunity I can when dry camping, but we’re packed in pretty tight here at Road America. Our neighbors are too close to bypass. The windows are closed. Twice I heard someone say they’ve never parked their travel trailer next to a million dollar motorhome before.

Another guy told me this morning he thought all the NASCAR drivers and owners had a special MH lot. I said they do; I parked in it for free two years ago when I ran the Xfinity race here. I thought the guy was going to drop his breakfast White Claw.

Our Liberty gauges were DOA. They look cool lit up- but that’s it. We could run about 4 days without having to dump thanks to the one- whoever thought that was “smart” holding tank.

If you can access your tanks, SeeLevel is the way to go. It’s very accurate and has Bluetooth as well as a monitor.

Won’t work on the metal tanks. It needs a plastic stand pipe plumbed into the system to show level correctly.

Do you know what system you have now or is it a liberty proprietary system?

I may be able to help, http://www.yellowjacketconcepts.com/other.html

We have the Tank Sentry by Headhunte in our Liberty.

Keeping the hoses sealed & the system calibrated can be tricky.

Not sure if it will help; but here’s link to a video outlining calibration:
