Darian…
It’s simply a buton on the right side of the dash panel….about even with the dash air panel. When I unplug, I have to depress the button to stop the alarm…
Sure would be nice if the problem works out to be this simple….ty

Thanks Andre. Hopefully, that is all it is and it will take care of itself.
I haven’t found anything obvious that would be causing it and everything seems to be functioning properly.

Hey Dan, Do you have any idea the kind/type of appraisaer the insurance company will send out? I don’t know but my bet will be they’ll know little about a Prevost conversion! Please keep us posted as things move forward. So very sorry this happened to you guys!

Patrick…enjoy the next 30 years. I was 30 years too late in getting a Prevost. But I’m loving it now, for sure.

Dan and Judy,
My heart breaks for You looking at the picture of Your beloved Prevost. Thank goodness You are all ok. It is a testament to the safety of the old tried and true Classic with rivets. Built like a tank ! I wonder how a H3 would look after a similar accident. They are structurally sound I am sure, But the body panels would not fair so well. ( Dont get Your feathers ruffled H3 owners ) They are magnificent looking coach’s for sure.I hope You can get Your coach fixed to Your satisfaction in a timely manor. That has got to be a PIA to climb in and out of the window.
Bsafe,

You’re right Jon, sound quality was important but I will never be able to get the same sound quality out of a coach because the room acoustics are just not there. The best I can hope for are some good headphones while full timing so that is something that I will need to explore.

Since R-12 was replaced with 134a in production vehicles and production of it stopped the price went up, but now the demand for is is so slight the R-12 available in the market is not very expensive. I know some PC members have been able to buy 30 pound containers for almost as inexpensive as 134a.
But even if it is expensive, like $30 a pound to pick a number the cost to recharge the system with it would be about $720 compared to $144 for 134a. My point is if the system is tight and the typical leak at the seal behind the clutch is not present it just does not make sense to eat a $5000 cost to replace all hoses, expansion valve, dryer, and lose about 15% efficiency..

Age is no assurance the batteries do not have a defect so while it is a pain removing all the cables so they can be individually tested you do want to make sure each is in good condition and tests OK.
I’m familiar with the old style Delco voltage regulator and Prevost had a detailed section in the shop manual covering the device, including how to set it. If they have switched to a different voltage regulator it is likely it is also covered in detail in the shop manual availtable on the Prevost Car site in the publications found through parts and service.

Ben, I appreciate you are looking at offering upgrades to electrical systems on older coaches as a option for owners, and for some that may be tempting if they do extensive dry-camping. For us, we hardly ever dry-camp (having said that we are currently dry-camping with a bunch of nice PC folks in Driggs, ID). Our normal mode of operation is to find a campground with 50 Amps and hook-ups, we don’t run our ACs on inverters at all. While driving we run the generator if we run CruiseAirs, or we use OTR AC. We love our CruiseAirs, they are an order of magnitude quieter than roof ACs, and any system making more noise would not appeal. Also, weight savings by going to LI batteries would not be significant enough to warrant the expense in a coach that weighs more than 50k pounds.
Don’t want to throw cold water on your ideas, I read the piece you poster earlier on your system for your new coaches, and I commend you for wanting to make improvements in the way coaches are set up, but I wanted to give you our perspective on electrical upgrades. -

That’s a lousy deal Pres and I’m sorry it happened. As others have said, this isn’t the first time this company has been shown to have terrible customer service! And to act as though you lied and/or made stuff up is really bad form!Like all of us, our bus is important to us and is a source of pride in both ownership and in the way we keep it up. When you’re delt with like this you have to wonder what they’re returning to you? I hope comes in just the way you want it and you can be happy with the knowledge you don’t have to deal with them again.
