I have found that most Cruise Airs are improperly charged and as a result the cooling is not very good.If you know how to charge them properly they will generally improve 3-5 degrees in differential. If you cannot do it go to AAP in Virginia and let Johnny do it,you will be very surprised.

Cruise-Air’s need an air conditioner to keep them cool!

I’ve gotten this warning a few times on my units when they’re working too hard. Just re-set and don’t worry about it unless it becomes habitual.

I need to replace the 12 volt heat exhaust fans too. Anybody know the best place to buy? I would like the quietest, most powerful and also the one the draws the fewest amps, of course…

There is a Locke electrical supply near me this week so that may be an option. I could button it all up this week with the batteries.

I also see several on ebay but I like to buy on good recommendation if possible.

    THIS looks good to me…

    Specifications

    • Approvals: CE
    • Dimensions (H x W x D): 76 x 127 x 81 (mm)
    • ElectricalCharacteristics: 2.9 Amp

    DKO,

You’ve been given great information. The manual switch you pictured would seem to eliminate AC voltage to the inverter/charger. Even if you can eliminate 110VAC input to the charger and bypass it, some items like air conditioners may not. Many thermostats run off of 12VDC from the batteries. This is necessary for the thermostats to support diesel fired heating systems.

I think you are moving from Lifeline AGMs to another brand of AGM. If true, the charger configuration shoulkd work. Just make sure the absorbtion and float voltage ranges recommended by the battery manufacturer falls within the voltages already set-up in the charger. Make sure you check these volatges through the temperature range, if your charger is set-up for charging based on battery bank temperature.

Your converter should didn’t do you any favors with battery access. Be careful with the weight of these beast and make sure you disconnect negative terminals first and reconnect positive battery terminals first. This eliminates the tool welding that can occur if your wrench hits any grounded part of the coach when removing and replacing terminal cables.

Many of the 45’s do it, the 40’s don’t.

    Tom,

They work great. Easy to install using the existing wiring from the old 4 leval read out. You can adjust the sensing leval during instalation to show exacaly when the water tank is down to a few percent of empty and the waste tanks are within a few percent of being full. I added a second moniter panel in the water bay. The system has been one of the best upgrades I have made. Purchased direct from Sea Leval web site.

Thanks Dale, that is what I was hoping for. I hate to start hitting on something without knowing what it does because I wind up replacing more than I intended. 🙂

All great points and good information. I did call Prevost parts and Prevost does not have this radiator in stock. John in Nashville is calling Canada to see about getting one. Also checking with a local radiator shop about replacement. All of my brackets and bolts are rusty as well so I think I need to replace the whole unit. I would love to do just the core but not sure if that will work. Good tip about the fan as well. I need to get my temps down to were Dale’s are.

    Thanks again!!

    Bill,

We have not determined if it will be a spring or fall date. Of prime importance is to minimize or avoid conflict with activities of any other groups so folks can attend, and the dates have to work around the availablity of a campground to handle the group. We are visiting there this September to see if we get some information and can make some decisions.

    We will post it here.

Doesn’t that Liberty have some big TVs in it?????

Does anybody know anything about the other campgrounds in or near Indianapolis. I’ve never tried camping with 30 amp service. I have enough trouble figuring out 50 amp.

FWIW….with our small storage business in KC we have narrowed the rental to diesel pushers . I can only hope when a new renter takes one of the stalls he is careful with our bldg.

With the bldg tour I have seen lots of people come and go in 10 + years. My last bit of conversation is eye ball to eye

ball. I ask for a favor and a promise. Please…. please before moving your coach in or out …..do me one little thing. Walk around your coach ! Just do a 360 ….. OK, Promise, OK and a hand shake.

With no if and’s or— but’s… every accident and there have been 3 major could of been prevented if they would of walked around the coach before punching “D” or “R”.

By far the the worst one was a Holiday Rambler with the rear bedroom slid extended and the owner drove from outside to inside. There are no safety switches or alarms on HR’s. Major bldg damage of course major, major rear bed-room slide damage. Posts are in front of the doors and when luck disappears your slid clears the top of the post by no more then 1 inch.

I have posted this slide accident before but with all due respect ……it’s worth repeating.
