All reports are the See Level sensors are good. if that doesn’t answer your question we can get Dale to make something else up. What do your want to hear?

    Tom,

I am in the process of installing the SeeLevel system. The down side of the system is the sensor strips/senders will not work, i.e. transmit signals, when installed on stainless steel. I have made up two PVC standpipes, one for fresh water and one for black water, to which the senders will be installed. The standpipes will then be plumbed up to the tanks. I am toying with the idea of installing three consoles – one inside the coach, one in the fresh water bay, and one in the black water bay. Don Shapansky (donshapansky@sprintmail.com) at SeeLevel has been very helpful in this matter. As you can imagine, it is a tight fit getting the standpipes installed on this coach!

Thanks Tom. My tanks are not metal so that part will be much easier for me. Looks like I’ll need extra strips because of the height of the tanks. Not a bad idea putting in extra monitoring panels, I may do one in the plumbing way. Let us know how it all works out and who did you buy from?

    Tom,

They work great. Easy to install using the existing wiring from the old 4 leval read out. You can adjust the sensing leval during instalation to show exacaly when the water tank is down to a few percent of empty and the waste tanks are within a few percent of being full. I added a second moniter panel in the water bay. The system has been one of the best upgrades I have made. Purchased direct from Sea Leval web site.

I have an LED monitor for both fresh water and waste tank. The waste tank always shows full with all LEDs lit. I have flushed the tank many times and reset the power to the monitor system with no change. I did get it to show the correct reading of empty once but it only lasted for a few minutes then turned back to a full reading. Any suggestions?

Mark, you have the level monitors made by Headhunter.

    http://www.headhunterinc.com/products/fluid/tanksentry.html

If you go to that site it will show you the types you have and go to donwloads to find the correct owner’s manual which will explain how to calibrate the unit. Rather than filling and draining the tanks I made up a tube that is as tall as the tanks and I fill that plastic tube with water to calibrate the monitor.

If you continue to have issues you may wish to contact Headhunter for help.

    Tom,

I installed them on my Royale. A good bit of work to remove all the stuff in the way to get to the tanks. But it was worth it. I still get a bad reading on my fresh tank occasionaly. Mostly when it is about the 50% mark. I suspect I did not get the gap between the stacked sensors “just right” and that is giving me a bad reading when the water level is at the gap between the sensors. Other then that, I am happy with my new sensors.

    Just before installing senor strips.

    sensor strip on fresh tank

A side note, I discovered that 2 of the black tank orginal sensors had completely rotted away, so I actually had 2 each 1/4″ holes in the side of my black tank. needless to say, I sealed those up.

Wondering, what do you mean exactly, by standpipe. Is that something intermnal to the tank onto which you will attach the monitor pickups?

Is it more like an external sight gauge. something like what is used with a boiler.

My reason for asking is, how will you or anyone keep that standpipe clean. With regard to the black tank, you know what I mean. With regard to the fresh water, well if the water in the tube builds bacteria due to never being flushed, well. Just some thoughts.

If you made a hole near the top of the tank you possibly could insert a strip of plastic material with all the pickups installed and the leads then coming out the insertion hole. Seal the opening and your good to go.

Just sayin, I’m a long way away from you and can not see exactly what you are doing and mentioning something you may not have thought about.

Thanks Andre, that is my next project. Did you use the existing wires or did you have to run new?

Tom, Glenn Burden at Royale Phoenix designed a very slick tank monitor. He installed it in our bus last year. It requires a 1/4″ plastic tube to be dropped into each tank so the plumbing bay requires no dismantling in order to install the system. It uses the existing wires which hook up to a small monitor. It can be programed to show tank percentage, gal, or a bar graph. Royale Phoenix sells it as a do it yourself kit.

    Tom,

Cost as follows: RP-2PMS Tank Monitor $7350, RP Monitor Panel $1850, Bubbler kit $350, Labor $285. We were one of the first customers for the system, prices may have changed. A toggle switch selects between Off, Gray, and Black tanks. Here are pics.
