2013 Prevost Community Rally
Posted by Archived on January 27, 2012 at 12:27 pmWe have selected Branson MO as the venue for our first Prevost Community Rally. It is a great place to visit and has no end of shows or activities so we are excited about it.
We have two RV Parks (campgrounds) that have indicated they can handle a rally of 100 to 110 coaches. We would like to know your opinions on the Branson KOA and America’s Best Campground. We would like to know if you have had any experience with either, if their sites are suitable for Prevost coaches up to 45 feet long, if you have had any trouble with electric power, and what your opinion is as to the suitability of the campground in general.
The range of dates we have selected is either sometime in April / May of 2013, or September / October. We do not want our rally to interfere with rallies from any group and we want it to be agreeable to most of our members. With your feedback we will start to lock in the campground, dates and then the agendas.

Let me the first to help out here as Branson is sort of in my back yard.
Jon, as this message goes out, many will probably comment on there preference. After reading your post my first choice would be ABC. I have not been there for a while and as things go some RV parks get better and some are not taken care of like they once were.
Give this a few days and I will be available to get in the car to see first hand each RV park under consideration. I also would take Maddie (the wonder dog) with me so her imput could be representive of the bus dogs.

Excellent idea to let Maddie help with the evaluation. If she wishes she can communicate with our Rauchy III.
You know what we want for sites. Level, concrete pads, easy to get into, ample 50 amp power, etc. Both RV parks would like to host our rally so to help make the decision we need to verify sufficient acceptable spaces, a meeting facility, and possibly and area for show coaches.

Al, feel free to give me a call, 870-350-1032, we live in Harrison, Ar, a mere 35 miles from Branson, would be easy to meet up with you there for a look see. I have visited both Venues, but never stayed there as to proximity to home, but, of course will probably come for 2013 with the Bus.

Sounds great, I’ll call you a couple of days before hand. This web site has a lot of reviews on both parks Jon has considered.

April – may weekends are normaly un predictable 50 -50 showers . Also have found KOA = anti bus. in many experiences myself. I no longer even consider them. My 2 cents Bob

Reposting message to get other members opinions on Branson sites. Thinking about a trip to Branson before the end of the month for a look see.
Choice #1 Branson KOA
Choice #2 ABC Campground

Noticed Member was going to visit: how about asking asking their tourist bureau to put together a package. For a group this large they should he eager to. Just a idea. Bob

Just for information, Prevost Prouds are coming to the KOA in August…..big rally
-
Thanks Roger, I had put the PP’s rally on our calendar, but I didn’t know which campground they were using. Hopefully we can get some feedback from them on how it went.

Branson sounds good, but with kids still in school finding the time is the hard part.
I am being totally selfish in saying that I would probably be able to come the week of August 27-30 because, if the kids get admitted to the new school we applied to, they are shutting down for the week because of the Republican National Convention in Tampa. This means a very unusual free week for me!

Guys
In the past most bus rallys are usually held at ABC since it is easier to get in and out of. Out in the country some, so those without a toad will need to get a taxi or ride with someone else. ABC is quieter and no traffic noise. Newell holds their Branson rally at ABC. KOA is not bad but would be my second choice. I live about 20 miles north of Branson and will be going down to Branson in the next few weeks to check on our lake house, so can report of the condition of both campgrounds, if you like.
Temps in April will likey be upper 60’s- upper 40’s and wet. May will likey be about 10 degrees warmer and dryer than April. August will upper 90’s-lower 100’s-upper 70’s-lower 80’s. September will slightly cooler under after September 25 when it starts to cool quite abit. August and Sept will likey be dry.
Since I live close, I would be willing to help organize/whatever you need for the rally for you if you like. By 2013, my home conversion should be finished after 8 years and be ready for a shakedown run!!! Branson would be a good run fo it.

Rob,
Thanks for the input. It sounds like Boater Al and Hangman are also going to give some input. Our primary objective now is to nail down the dates and we are working around dates of other groups. Once we have the dates nailed down our next step is to decide on the site. This far out I think both will be available.

Thanks Les.
Do you know a good time from the PP calendar when in 2013 would be a good time for a PC rally in Branson? We don’t want to conflict with anyone or draw anyone from their group’s rally, but we do want a large turnout of the full range of Prevost owners.
