So what is the approximate price installed for all three axles?
and will they work with or against the magic fairy dust I already have in my steer and drive tires (tags don’t have the balancing sand)?

They no longer have diesel engines if they require spark plugs. Diesel engines initiate the combustion cycle with high compression, whereas if a spark plug is required the compression is insufficient to create combusiton.
That is the reason for the sound level difference.
As to power, BTUs are BTUs. In other words it is the BTU content of the fuel that is going to dictate perfromance. If a gallon of diesel contains 130 BTU (just a guess) and bio-diesel contains 110 BTU per gallon then the engine run on pure diesel is going to pull a hill better or get better MPG than the bio-diesel.
So far, despite all the presumed benefits to mankind and the environment, good old fashioned diesel fuel is still king. It may not burn as clean, or keep the engine as clean, but it gives more bang for the buck than anything else out there that is readily available, or that is practical for installation in our coaches.
By good old fashioned diesel I mean the stuff we used to burn before the regulators started forcing changes to the content such as reduction in sulfur levels.

I’ll buy used tires and run them on my trailers. I’ve had some on trailers 10 years old but would not do that on my bus. If anyone wants to sell some and are close to Houston let me know. I’m sure I can pay more than tire dealers.

My friend,You got LUCKY!!! I had a XL and one night I was cruising across west Texas at about 75 M.P.H. following a Bull Hauler Truck. We were running together,But hadnt talked in a while. All at once he swerves to the right,I am instantly thinking he is nodding off as it was about that time of the morning. I was watching him for a moment instead of directly in front of me.All at once there was a LARGE Buck standing in my lane!!! I didn’t have time to do anything,Brake,Swerve,Lift off the accelerator, Nothing. I hit him dead center at 75, I merged to the right and hit the shoulder. I was nervous when I got out because it sounded like a bomb had went off in the Coach. I rounded the entry door and stood back and looked and it was a terrible sight. My Bumper was bent so bad that it had ripped the bolt thru on the drivers side. The Cruise Air in the Spare tire bay was knocked loose from it’s mounting screws.All the Stainless up to the painted part under the winsheild was dented in at the center of the Coach. I took the Bumper off and put it in the trailer as it was blocking my Headlights. I walked back a mile looking for the Buck,Couldn’t find a piece bigger than my finger of him. It must have shredded him. There was a big mess of little parts. I am sure he didnt make it. I hated that it happened,But the way it happened there was nothing I could do.I was on him before I realized he was there. I had to finish the leg of the Tour with a wrecked,Ugly Coach. Got home put it in the shop,cost close to $9,0000 to repair everything. Lesson learned,Watch them West Texs Buck’s. You got LUCKY!!!

I am still here. Not been able to work on the coach much becasue of having to make a living. One of my duh moments, I built my quiet box for the generator, got it all finished and realized as I was getting ready to mount the genny in it that it was 3 inches to short. Had to tear it out and start over. Been working on and off on it for the past 3 mos an hour ot two here or there. Just about to finish it, then on to finish the water/electric bay. Sent my electric reel in to glenndining and had them rebuild it. Cost me $150 plus $50 shipping but it is brand new now, so that is all I have to install in the water/electric bay. Got the interior window shades hung, ready to start building ceiling panels. Did the bedroom ceiling panels and wasn’t satisfied so tore them all out and starting over this winter when it is cold outside. If I could work 8 hrs per day on it I would be done in 6 mos or so.
Painful to go down to the shop, remember where I was, then think how it was I was going to do something, then start and 30-45 minutes later have to stop and not get back to it for 2-4 weeks. The critical things I make notes and leave them but still painful.
I saw your post on the lower bay door panels. Yes, Steve at IBP has those but local guy did a couple for me using the same SS and was less expensive partially due to shipping but used the same SS as Steve. They really are easy to replace, the real problem is finding the polished SS rivets. I found a stock of them at Bylers in Dallas, bought all he had and so have some spares for the future if I need them. I already ahd to use some of them to replace a lower panel from a rock that jumped out from the side road and hit the panel. The nerve of the rock doing that!!

I used a drop down TV mounted it unside down on the relocated (raised) shelf. I used 2 rubber cushions under both sides of the bottom of the TV to maintain the tilt.
I used a home TV amp in place of the coax selector switch. I have an A/B switch to select between antenna and cable as one input to thge amp. The other input to the amp is from the non functional Sat TV. The amp has 4 outputs and I only need 3.
I gave up on the over the drtiver TV. Instead, I have a 42″ TV mounted on the shelf on the passenger side directly across from the couch. When (if) I get around to rebuilding the console above the windshield then the TV will go back up front.

Liam I just got back from the Portland Auto Swap Meet, they had lots of them at the booths ranging anywhere from 5 dollars to 20 new and used. they looked likea GM auto part.

sacrasmhumor. It’s actually my strong suit and it gets me in a lot of trouble.
So, what say we all take a deep breath, exercise a bit of Kumbaya, and start over again. Remember this topic started taking about Chinese / Comunnist batteries (despite the fact that we all drive Socialist buses) and I was simply sharing my experience with this product. Things somehow (I know, by fault, too) went sideways from there.
Please understand that I have been dealing with this engine power issue for at least 10 years and have spent lots and lots of money with only one desire……I just want my home to work right again. This is my home. Everything I own and love is in this bus. It was completely remodeled and updated in ’94 by Rick Oaks who we later learned was nicknamed Pump and Dump by Country Coach. I sure looked great but when you look under the skin……
In any case, we have fixed what needed to be fixed, we have remodeled and redone the coach to fit our personal needs. She just needs a working engine so I can get it painted and continue our travels into the sunset.
It’s just that everytime I find a new potential source of info I jump in with both feet. I guess I just need to chill and dish out the info a piece at a time.

Yep, for me, my business requires me to travel where RVers don’t want to be. That’s why I am just now coming out of the NW during the Winter and will need to be in the SW in the Summer. There are some moderate swings in the middle that make it all tolerable. We have had success with our Cruisairs in this weather when they are all working so that would be my first choice (40′ no slides really helps) but since I will not be anywhere East of TX, if anyone has any ideas of a converter who might be able to do roof airs for us on the West coast would be appreciated. I do appreciate your helpful feedback. That’s all I have ever looked for.

Jim, you can tow almost anything 2 wheel drive with a driveshaft dis-connect installed. then your only limiting factor becomes whether or not you can base plate it.

Once in awhile the water in fuel light will come on , if it gets wet from rain or if you pressure wash back there , let it dry and it will go out!!

Do you have a Raycor vacuum gauge in your instrument cluster ? This gauge will tell you if the Raycor fuel filter is getting dirty because the fuel pump will create more vacuum on the filter as it draws the fuel through it. Mine stays about 0 – 1 pound of vacuum and when it gets up to 5 – 7 pounds I change the Raycor filter. If you do not have a gauge I am not sure other than mileage or loss of performance when to change it.
There is a water sensor also and that may be why you are draining the water if it came on, I always check the bowl visually way before the light has a chance to come on during my pre-trip checks. If water in the bowl is your only concern I would just drain it in a clean container and see what it looks like. Check the foreign matter and quantity of water since the last drain to determine if it is condensation or a bad load of fuel.
