Because it’s usually the most fun rally of the year even though the atmosphere is very un-resort like. Plus you have access to some of the best minds in the buisness. One gathering we would never miss ! Geo.

    Fast Ricky,

I still use the ole batwing and have a converter, so HD over the air antenna is very good. I usually don’t have to raise the antenna only in rural areas. There are some nice Wineguard antenna’s that you can use to replace the badwing. Roadstar

    Glad I could hep ya….

On another note but with similarities. I once worked a job with the state department of transportation and averaged 300 interactions per month with the public. Many of these were in reaction to a crash and the need for the DOT to take actions, and the public always knew what action needed to be taken.

One of these calls was from a lady requesting a traffic signal. Toward the end of the conversation the lady clearly defined my primary job responsibility. “Your job is to anticipate our stupidity and take action before we hurt ourselves.” Now IF I could anticipate the stupidity seen by all of us while driving, especially in a Prevost conversion, I would probably be qualified for a much higher line of work.

Another call was from a mother of a nine year old. Seems she was concerned for her child’s safety and posting a lower speed limit on a no outlet, less than a half mile, sand clay road would do the trick. Now remember my clearly defined primary job responsibility on this one. I inquired what exactly was creating her concern. OK, sit down and buckle up. The source of the problem was her son had nothing to do when he got home from school. To eliminate his boredom, it was the Mom’s practice to give her son the car keys and let him drive the car up and down the sand clay road. Her concern was for someone else hitting her car and injuring her son. Now that logic clearly fits my defined primary job responsibility. So I inquired what time in the afternoon could I expect to find her son home and behind the wheel driving the car. My question was answered and I terminated the call as quickly as possible. My next action was to call our local SHP First Sargeant and relay this information to him. I don’t know what action they took but he was dumbstruck that a Mom would do this. I agreed and asked if she couldn’t perhaps entertain her son with something constructive say HOMEWORK!

So as it has been said, “They live amongst us.”

When I ren my bus out of fuel backing up my driveway which caused the 100 gallons on board to flow forward into the aux fuel tank I had to add 35 gallons to get it to start and run, plus about a gallon I ran through it to prime it.

If the bus is on level ground I suspect much less would be needed.

FWIW….Replacement marker lights are available from TruckLit or Grote. Takes a little research to get exact part number but worth the time so the look will be factory.

Grote has a help number on there web sight.

I was able to find exact replacement of markers with the help of Truk4u from TruckLit which are available in red and amber with gaskets.

I don’t know what your markers and clearance lights look like.

Picture from TruckLit catalog ..Ours were Surface Mount so the lens and style is same Red or Amber.

We definitely want to get handgun training and lots of practice rounds in. I’ve read about a place in Las Vegas area called front Sight, that does all kinds of firearms training from handguns to semi-automatic weapons. Apparently its the biggest facility like this which specializes in training everyone from those who have never fired a gun to ex-cops, military etc. and supposedly one of the best at it.

Has anyone else had any experience with this facility and is it really that good?
