Replacing toilet CC
I am replacing the floor in my Country Coach and want to replace the toilet. I got a price of $3,400 for new toilet. I was thinking more in the $350 range. Does anyone have a words of wisdom?

Who in God’s name quoted you 3400 for a toilet ? You can buy an auto deuche one like comes in the new Milleniums for less than 1500 at Menards. Geo.

What is so wrong with the original toilet that a complete replacement is required? That seems like an extreme repair unless the china has broken.

$3400 seems a little extreme. I don’t know all the facts or options you have. Maybe removing an air operated and going to electric could climb to that number.
If you have a Microphor air or electric I have rebuilt and replaced parts in both. Air operated has more issues due to leaks that show up over time. Moister is the enemy in the AUX system causing stress to air components.
Parts are available for Microphor although expensive sure beats replacing a complete unit.

Tom, Yes it is a Microphor, I don’t doubt it is $3,400. I just want to replace my simple flush toilet, you push the handle the bottom opens and then the toilet fills with water. I don’t have or need an air or jet flush.I see the toilets at Camping World with a foot flush in the $350 range. I am told by Tradewinds that the only one that can be used without major plumbing is the Microphor. My question has anyone with a CC replaced their toilet and how difficult is it?

I suspect you may need the air or electric model of whatever to force the “stuff” to the black tank unless your toilet is directly over the top of the black tank. Isn’t tank location the main reason we all have air or electric toilets?

I have the same toilet in my coach and have replaced numerous parts.
Mine just drops straight trough to the black tank, very simple alll electric no air.
I would think that any drop through toilet would work making sure it will go under the cabinet like mine.

Give Microphor a call to find out where there is a reliable Microphor repair center. They shoiuld know selling parts to them. The Microphor people are very helpful.
Post repair company on PC to verify any good or bad comments.

You have an LF220 and it is a direct drop and it sets on a wax ring just like your house. I’ve rebuilt 2 of them, but parts are expensive as Al pointed out. I’ll defer to Tradewinds, but other than a 12v wire and a water inlet, not sure what plumbing you would have to change. Any toilet you change to may or may not have the same footprint, so there might be some floor work involved. Peter got rid of his Microphor air and went to the Tecma and had good results.
I doubt you want to put a plastic toilet made for Winnebagos in your bus.:)

Thanks everyone for the input. The good news is that I found out I have a Microphor toilet and it should be a simple matter to repair the handle switch. As usual Tradewinds came to the rescue with their attention to the situation. They researched the matter and advised me of the options.

Bill, we had a Microphor like yours in our Affinity. After struggling with trying to get the replacement seal to close tight (slightly thicker than original), I donated the toilet and got a replacement with manual flush. There are a number of toilets on the market that would work, both manual and electric.

I have replaced two toilets and both ones I put in are tecma they were the best and no trouble no matter what the plumbing is they will work , if I ever have to replace this headhunter one I will put in the tecma

Curious, are these (Tecma) just a drop though design? Mine sits on top of tank opening for straight drop. Electric Microphor.
