That’s a Prevost or Ben dix question. On page 45 of the catalog linked below there are several configurations shown and listed, and a little voice inside my head says you might be able, but the top is not symetrical and I doubt if Prevost takes each one apart rather than making the support bracket in the correct orientation.

    Mikee,

In NC the problem rests squarely on our court system. Our system is discouraging to Troopers doing their job on the highways. Our Troopers have to go to court on a day off only to have the court system spit on them. BLM takes a back seat to the disrespect shown our Troopers.

I attended a Scotland County Safe Communities meeting years ago. The presenter was from Operation Lifesaver, a railroad program to educate people of the dangers at highway/grade crossings. At the meeting were all three parts of highway safety represented. In my position I had responsibility for ordinances that were reasonable and that 85% or more of the drivers would voluntarily comply with. There were also one local Laurinburg officer and one NC State Trooper. If I did my job correctly the LEO’s only had 15% or less of the traffic stream to take enforcement actions. Finally there was a Judge present also, Judge McIlwain (sp).

Now after the presentation there was an opportunity for those in attendance to ask questions. Well the judge asked “Mr. DOT”, that would be me, how to go about getting active protection installed at a crossing. I described the process, what office was responsible for the process, and some of the parameters that were considered in the process. The judge then asked if a Politician told me to install one would I? NO, it involves Federal funds and I don’t like windows that have bars blocking the view. He then asked the same question but using a NC Department of Transportation Board member as asking, would I install one then? Well of course, so long as he provided his discreationary funds to cover the cost. Now I was getting pissed so I asked the presenter if I could borrow his podium for just a few minutes.

The next few minutes were taken up, in front of 40 or more residents of Scotland County, by saying that I am working as hard as humanly possible responding to citizen requests for me to do something about speeding violations. I then said the second part would be efforts by law enforcement, and they are also pedelling as hard as they can to make your community safe. I then took on the judge by saying where the process fails is in your court room judge, with PJC’s given out (like Holloween Candy), then Improper Equipment – no consequences on your license or insurance rates, followed by reduction in the rate of speed charged to 9 miles per hour over the speed limit – also no insurance consequences here in NC, before actually dealing with the violator for the original violation. The 40 or so people were clapping their hands as the judge got up and walked out of the room. I wanted to go one to one with him after the meeting but I was not about to be stabbed in the back by the highest representive of the court system in a public venue.

Yes it is getting worse, and not just because I’m approaching Jon’s age. Nothing is being done except lip service from the DA offices and the court system.

Jon: Heaviest load is when I’ve gone all night and all batteries are at 50%. My batts are hooked together so I have 6 8D, 4 31’s, and 2 27’s. OTR load is nothing compared to initial charge of the batts. The alt is 24 volt, and I’d have to look at the calibration on my gauges to be sure, but I’d guess it’s putting out 200-250 amps at startup. No problem with the alt so far (50-75,000 miles) in the desert southwest (ambient often over 115F) but those initial high load start ups are usually in a cooler time of day. I did have a problem with the bolts securing the alt mounting bracket to the engine shortly after initial installation which seems to have been resolved.

Thank you all for the advice.

I managed to find a NIB Thomas compressor identical fot the failed unit. What a deal at less than $1000! The currrent Thomas replacement for the failed unit is over $2300 from Zoro! I know you are not supposed to say “retarded” any more, but that’s retarded!

I have added this to several coaches, and typically very good feedback, exhaust is cleaner, better MPG and most of all we stop EGR from dumping on #6 hole with potential of damage…..

When I started when I ran my hand over panel it felt rough after I was done it felt smooth ,I could hear the difference , I Used three grinders one dewalt and two Milwaukee , with three different wheels and three different rouge bars, it speeded it up not having to change wheels , go slow touch it all the time to make sure it’s not getting hot , if your hand can touch it no worries if it’s hot to the touch no good, it will get warm but not hot, it is very slow I was in no hurry to get it done , For those that think you can wipe something on the skins to bring back shine think again , hard work brings it back or a Visa card . Mine had not bin polished for two years on the road so it was time , the stuff that collects on the skins is amazing even though I wash it just about every week stuff still gets on there , Hope this helps out

When the bus was inside under the lights I could really see the that it needed to be polished outside in the sun not so much , with no sun and cloudy out I could see it outside also , that’s why I took the picture with my fingers on the panel that was not done and the one that was done so you could see what it looked like before and after

Also if you hold grinder like I showed and go left to right this is a coloring motion or high shine, if you pull buffer right to left it is a cutting motion you have to remember this or you will be redoing it

    Jon,

On my Bus, traveling down to Dallas today, my Jake engaged while on cruise control while we were going down the Arbuckle mountains of Oklahoma. On my sliverleaf tablet, the Jake engaged at 33%, then 67%, then 100%, before we leveled out at the base of the mountains and then the Jake disengaged automatically.

It hasn’t happened yet, but it is getting chilly down there.

I am still really having a hard time coming to grips with the loss of a double seal.

The Cruise-Air being a heat pump, uses freon during both the heating and the cooling cycles. It must have an adequate amount of freon to properly operate as both a heater and an air conditioner.
