Heck, even us redheaded step children (SOB owners) were totally adopted into the PC family. I’m not sure I would join a group that would have the likes of me as a member….

It was GREAT fun, will do it again.

First you must decide your max load. There is no reason spending 1/2 of your value(of bus) on a gen set. That said it isn’t unusal for a diesel gen to go 10,000hrs. You can get 30 amps at most camp sites. 50 amp is common now. With power saving hvac , induction cook tops ,led lighting you van get by on 7.5 kw running at 50%. Amps X volts=watts . A 30 amp campsite power X 120 volts=3600 watts. Most 50 amp sites I run in to are 120 volt 2 legs X 25 amps each=6000 watts. There are some with 2 each 50 amp legs. My choice was a 7.5kw 220 (2ea 120V legs) It had 34 hrs on it and is lp. 1500$..Some inconvience with lp. Depends on your time value=end result. The lp is more expensive to run on the other hand is much cleaner.Would prob take 15 yrs to make up differance of frequent running. This is ment to give you choices. Bob
PS see forum on generator useage—You will surprised on how many hrs the average bus owner puts on them.

After 4 days or mud, rain and road grime, it should be easy to pick out our Signature amongst all the shiny Prevost. See y’all after lunch on Tuesday.

    Busnut,

I’m trying to follow your story…. You didn’t have your wallet but they got $1,400 from you? Were you forced back into the coach to get your wallet?

Sorry that you had that experience.

It has been reported on here that Prevost will sell individual components from the solenoid valve manifold, including the coil or the valve itself.

If you coach is indeed an Elegant Lady you just need to tell the part folks in Elgin what you need, perhaps ordering an extra or two to carry as a spare.

I had checked with Chuck @ Commonwealth and asked the same thing. While we are replacing the fabric, could we put a mod to reverse the hooking of the awnings? He checked with Zip Dee and the kit applies to XL2 but not XL. Just like Peter said, it is because of the curve in the roof line.

I was so looking forward to the chance of making the awning easier to open. I thought Rudy had some new change that I could work with. Oh, well. It’s okay, as long as I don’t fall off the ladder when putting the hook into the eyelet.

As as for leaving the awnings open, only when I’m here and only after I check the weather for the day. Any winds greater then 10 knots and I put them up. Since the patio awning is difficult, I don’t use it as much as I’d like.

We had a storm roll in around 10 pm last summer. A Class’-A motor home had the auto wind detector that was not fast enough to prevent damage. The camper was out when the storm hit. A straight line gust of the wind grabbed his awning and bent it so it was actually be beating a hole in his roof. We did what we could to help but it was futile. His awnings were destroyed and he had water penetration thru the gashes in his roof membrane. He never came back to the camp.

In here are the 2 valves from the webasto – the webasto unit is the lower right traingular patch in the photo. The green hose going up the back wall there seems to be the output of the pump inside the webasto. The green hose goes to a sort of Y – one fork goes to the manual valve and the other fork goes to the electric valve.

With the 12V heat running (the webasto is running too) I tapped the vavle. I also took the coil off and put my screwdriver in there and the coil IS NOT magnetized. So – it’s not getting power. It’s also not hot after the valvue. I noticed the valve said 24V on it. The hose on that electric valve heads back to the engine – the manual valve hose heads towards the front of the bus.

The hose after the manual valve is hot – also, when I close and open the manual valve I can hear the pump in the webasto change pitch. Telling me that it knows I closed and opened that valve.

I saw 2 more valves – the older “screw in” type ones – in the webasto compartment. I put my hands on them and they are both open.

I’m going to tackle the bleeding next – I’ll post when I get the results. If any other ideas come up, please… let me know.

    Thanks again!

    Jon,

They have blue for cold side 350 degrees F. And choice of Red and Black for for the hot side and 500 degrees F. The black hose has a High temperature fluorocarbon elastomeric liner.

You may not have scrolled down far enough, its below the blue or cold side hose picture

Peter, Good to know. It seems odd, you can get parts for just about anything right from Prevost (even my vintage coach most things are on the shelf). I have never looked at a tipout window up close. I wonder if Joe can get just a new seal to eliminate his leak?
