I recall some years ago Coke decided to change their drink formula. Switched back after lot of complaints. Might be the same type of thing here. Old way worked just fine. “Improvement” not so much. Has been my routine for some years to just check every so often for posts placed since last read. Quick and easy.

Thanks, Mike. I’ll never complain of getting too much info.

I’ve not replaced any of mine yet, just know the don’t work as well and want to cut out the air line as well.

Do you replace the piston from the outside or inside the bus?

My bed lift is also air driven. Previous owner installed a much heavier mattress so the air lift doesn’t help a lot. I plan to eliminate that air line and install an electric piston similar to on my boat cockpit hatch.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a great experience at Prevost Houston.

Their whole team did an excellent job scheduling us in, procuring parts and getting us up and running on time.

It’s good to know that there’s a Prevost service center in the area.

    Have a good weekend,

    Chris

First, I would add that you will want to look for a Prevost with ROOF AIR! Cruisair is out of business, is a pain and expense to repair and the only replacement units are from a different manufacturer and costs $8000 per unit (3-4 units per Prevost)

I am at a service center in CA now and will have been here for 2 weeks before this is all over. We haven’t had time to get a bunch of minor issues address over the last couple of years so we are getting them done now all at once. It’s likely going to be $15,000+ by the time it’s all over, not including the $6000 to repair/repaint the front cap that had been damaged, but well hidden, on this coach we bought from ETLC on consignment. Or the house batteries I just had to replace because the were wired completely wrong and I missed during our inspection prior to purchase. All my fault but, for us, it was the right coach at the right time and a very hard to find 40 footer. I don’t regret the decision to buy but I wished I had been more thorough with my inspection.

I just heard from the dealer and he did answer my questions. I am disappointed however that while I awaited a response my desire to trade coaches diminished.

Speaking as an owner that wants values to remain high, it is to our advantage coach sellers should be aggressive. The more they sell, the fewer on the market, the higher the prices and we all benefit from that.

I’m still old, grumpy and expect sellers to respond quickly to buyers.

Art just put in those high tech batteries and you are going to recommend a snap switch thermostat? Come on man!

I guess I have been screwing up. I installed my Relion LiFeP04 batteries and after verifying the bus alternator voltage regulator setting was Ok as well as the inverter charge voltage I did nothing.

I do not monitor the state of charge. I do always have it plugged in with inverters powered except when driving, and I do NOTHING. My only effort with my Li batteries is to make sure if temps are going to drop that the heating system in their enclosure is functioning.

If I had to do all that has been posted about monitoring the SOC I w9ould have stayed with AGM. The less I have to worry about on the bus the happier I am.

They are Atwood EHM11-SM. 10.5 gallon. I dug into both and found a burnt (to a crisp!) on the dead on and a disconnected wire on the one that was only heating the water a little.

2 new connectors and a piece of wire and everything is good again. It appears the Atwood is no longer available but a couple of other units the same size and same connection layouts are available for Marine use. This one is labeled Marine Only as well.

    Harbor Freight

    https://www.harborfreight.com/1-hp-stainless-steel-shallow-well-pump-and-tank-with-pressure-control-switch-950-gph-63407.html

and others is what I have planned if/when my expensive 12v Groco calls it quits.

My LIberty has a Headhunter, works perfectly with pump cutoff max pressure of 37 psi and restart at 30 psi, but it does have a 4.5 gal diaphragm surge tank.

I had a leak and changed the tank cap, 13 psi motorad, for 6.99. Seems to have fixed it, apparently it’s a good idea to change them every two or three years.

Agree with Brad. We need a way to see everything has been posted since we last visited in one simple step. Site looks great. Function – not so much. Need to focus on simple otherwise just not worth the time. Hope you can get this “tweak” done. MAB
