Yes, I don’t need or like it in any motorhome that I’ve owned. After spending a bunch of $ fixing it, I disconnected it at the air source in the steer compartment.

I have a 2005 XL, Marathon. About a year ago I had one line split at the connection. I cut it shorter reconnected all was well until this summer. Now one splits, I fix it and another one comes loose. I bought a kit from Marathon including connectors and lines. I have service scheduled for October, I am going to let them replace it. They told me once they start to go they all will go. They are right.

I put a 1/4 ball valve shut off valve in steer compartment just in case of failure, also I put shut off valve on air horn- air door lock- foot well slide just in case

ART, Same here. I installed a shut off valve on the Air Horn and Air Seat in the steering compartment. Had Air Horn switch fail at 6:00 AM in RV park in Indio, Ca. Made a few angry campers. Seat air leak happened while underway at highway speed. Used “vice grips” for temporary fix.

The old air line is 4mm and ages out and cracks. Was hard to get but now available in colors on Amazon along with 4mm push to connect fittings – which are a lot better than the rinky dink connectors used originally on these old chairs. Tubing and connectors are not terribly expensive. The seat is relatively easy to get off the chair and most lines can be accessed and fixed then without taking the whole chair out. I use shut offs on everything like others do. Mike

It’s great that you can cut off the air in case of a leak but now, with no air in the seat, how do you see over the dash board? With no air the seat is sitting on the floor!

I guess they sit on pillows.

Same thing here, and also our internal weight adjustment valve failed. I just blocked it off, and temporarily spliced in a schrader air valve with a push on connection, then filled it with an air pump. It takes a little adjustment to get the pressure set based upon the driver’s weight.

Dan, I bought the kit from Prevost in Nashville. Part number 861663, it’s called Quick air release valve/handle. $1440. It has all new lines, connectors, new knob, and a couple connection blocks. They are all connected up and ready to go. Plug and play.

I’m from the school that Rock trucks need an air ride seat, not a luxury MH.

If it did ride so bad that it needed an air ride seat, it would be where the boss sits, shotgun 🙂 and she hasn’t said anything yet.

Mine has the 6 way too. Seating position for me is perfect.

I do 700 and 800 mile days no problem 🙂

Yep when I purchased my coach the seat was broken so I removed air from my cockpit for the seat after I lucked up and found the last Flexsteel power seat from a dealer in Florida which they had as a display. 6-way power!
