How about a part number or link for that door handle? I may attempt to change mine proactively.

This has been a problem Jake and we’re working on it. The problem is we can’t
seem to duplicate it and all my pictures on my laptop, IPad and IPhone work fine. Our web developer and Jon can’t seem to duplicate the problem either. So we’re trying to identify what operating system, version, etc. that causes the problem.

Post your photo’s and I’ll correct them.

You need to provide converter information. Unless it is Prevost OTR someone with your conversion can help. If it is Prevost OTR their parts department will have them in your hands likely tomorrow.

My dash air is the same. It seems biased to the passenger side defrost vents about 60/40. I assume it’s because the run on the ducts is longer to the driver side in the Prevost diagrams.

    Jon, True Story:

About 30 years ago the warehouse manager’s office was about 4 down the hall from me. The manager had a horseshoe haircut, you know hair around the paremeter and nothing on top. In fact he said that bald men were the only people who could hear it snow.

One day he came to my office with tears streaming down his cheeks, plopped into one of my chairs and, gasping for breath, told me this story.

He said a salesman was in his officefor over an hour and he just could not get rid of him. Telling him that we did not need any of his products at the moment, etc. The manager said that the salesman then said “Just one more thing and I will get out of your hair.” The manager then jumped up, slamed his hands on his desk and yelled “HAIR?, HAIR? WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY HAIR??” He said the saleman grabed his sample case and took off down the hall and by the time the manager got to the front door, the salesman was already in his car, backing out of the parking lot.

With my hair, or lack thereof, I have waited for 30 years to use that line and, darn it, it never happens, but I am still waiting.

But, don’t you dare call me bald because I still have 7 hairs on top. I count them every morning. While true a couple have fallen off, I found them on my pillow and have super glued them back in place, so NEVER call me bald!!!

    WOW, talk about thread creep.

I also tried to get service/ work performed on the coach we purchased couple months ago, no avail due to privacy. I can care less of the owner info(history now) I just need to know what to expect next…is there anything we can do as a group to get these OEM’s in line?

This may be of help for anyone wanting an Auto Start for inside tempature and low battery without spending a ton of money. I installed this on my 1999 Royale and once I got the wiring set up it is working fine.

I wrote an article and posted it. I recommened looking over the “Article” section of the site, a lot of good info that has been posted there.

    Marius…

    http://power.cummins.com/sites/default/files/literature/brochures/f-1824.pdf

I had that system (EC-30W) installed in a previous mh (Winnebago Vectra) by Cummins/Onan techs at a rally several years ago. Long story short, Onan could not get the thing to work as advertised. Installed in Iowa, and 2 months later after numerous calls to Onan TS and spending a week in the parking lot at Rocky Mountain Power near Denver, and 2 new units, had it pulled out for a full refund. We had it installed because we have pets and wanted the auto start/hi coach temp and/or shore power loss features. Onan may have increased the radio strength or changed the freqs, but the techs I talked with when we were having problems indicated that alot of metal around the transmitter and/or the receiver would potentially cause the units to be unreliable. Winnie has more steel superstructure around the front windshield and gen slide than many other mfgrs, and that was the only thing that they could come up with as to why we were having drop-outs in comm between the gen receiver and the control handset. When comm link dropped, the unit would have to be reset again with our params for temps, gen run time, etc, essentially making it worthless. The hardwired units seemed to work well, but running the wires is a pita and was not something we wanted to do if we could use the wireless.

Just be aware and do your homework. As I said, Onan may have changed the units since I tried it, but it didn’t work as advertised for us in a mh that has nowhere near the metal content of your bus.

That seems to be an obvious and reasonable goal especially since it seems technology is added to our coaches for the sake of technology, and then it is not supported after a while. No converter’s coaches are exempt from that kind of thinking as we all know.

A lot of the inverters available today have the means to control auto-start, something that might not have been available when the Watchdog was first designed and used. But the Watchdog is more than just a device to turn on the generator. It also monitors the generator and if any fault such as high temp, low oil pressure, etc should occur the Watchdog will shut it down. So if anyone is contemplating bypassing the Watchdog, be aware whatever system is employed it needs to include provision to protect the generator.

Do not let the almost 100% reliability of our generators lull anyone into thinking the risk is small. A simple failure such as a broken fan belt can result in temperatures high enough to ruin an otherwise perfect generator motor.

The primary issue is associated with EGR coaches, and specifically those that have had the CAC replaced and then had a failure of the blue hoses installed on the “hot” side, from the turbo to the CAC.

They will never get it right. The difference is the bus. No MH manufacturer will ever get their chassis certified as a commercial vehicle. It would entail crash testing and God knows what else. The closest anyone can come seems to be Newell and still there is a huge difference. You can buy a mid to late 90’s XL 100-150K and double or even triple the initial cost zeroing mechanically and up dating and still not even reach the middle level of plastic MH’s. Geo.
