OTR air through front defrost vents
How much is normal when you haven’t got it set to defrost? Currently it must be 50-60% coming from ours. I want to say that Troy fixed something once before and we haven’t thought about it since, until we were driving late at night on Tuesday and the window fogged.

With my 01 Liberty, most of the air came from the defroster vents leaving almost nothing from the dash vents. Everytime I asked about what could be done to get more air from the dash vents I heard crickets. No matter what position or combination tried with the controls, roasted in the drivers seat. And yes, I had OTR freaking air. You could hang meat in the rear though, woopee.

My dash air is the same. It seems biased to the passenger side defrost vents about 60/40. I assume it’s because the run on the ducts is longer to the driver side in the Prevost diagrams. -
On my coach there is a fresh air intake above the front bumper that I taped off to keep outside air from coming in the coach.
Then I had to close off the vents under the dash that direct air to the windshield or the floor. Thay never work.
Mine are the old manual cable coperated kind that don’t work. This helps some.

A buddy of mine is handy w/fiberglass so I had him make these. There is a directable flapper valve in each to direct air at windshield or passenger.

There is a golden opportunity for your buddy if he wants to make these for our members…That is exactly what I would do if I had the capabilities of making the covers.

Don i noticed your altimeter in the pic you posted showing the air vents. I had the same altimeter in my two previous prevost’s, but my current one does not. I loved them when I went out west. Does anybody know if they are still available, I have searched but no luck.

2x on the diverters. I’ll take two.
2x on the altimeter. What is the make and model. Anyone know? I think our coach had the altimeter and an outside air temp gauge that the previous owner took out. I found a blade shaped “probe” behind the front bumper but haven’t traced it back yet. The location where I think all this stuff was installed in the dash looks like it was filled with a “tray” to put stuff in. I’d rather have the altimeter and OAT gauge.

I had an altimeter in a previous coach and while it was neat to know if I was climbing or descending and what my altitude was above MSL, it needed an accurate barometric pressure setting. I have to believe there are GPS units that can give that information without having to figure out the barometric pressure setting unless you like talking to FSS or getting the METARS for your nearest airport.

Jon, you are correct. When i was traveling in the mountains and passed a road sign stating the alitude I would have to calibrate the gauge by simply twisting the knob. But it was usally within about 30 ft or so. Its just something I enjoyed and would like it again.

The altimeter and compass shoud be driven by a GPS receiver. 20 years ago a magnetic compass and barometic altimeter was what I would have expected. But TODAY for a motorhome it should be GPS driven. I’ve looked, and can’t find one. If anyone finds one, please let me know.

My obsolete Garmin Zumo 450 GPS has an altimeter and compass built into it. Don’t they still cme that way?
