I think the big difference is Anchor Down caters more to the family campers. Every time I’ve driven through there it’s loaded with trailers and kids using the playground and lake beach/swimming. There’s really nothing for kids to do at Two Rivers and it seems to cater more toward quiet older crowds like Jon.

Jon….you are right. Lots of hypothesis (SP) but no answers. I do belive we are getting close. I would like to get this resolved before we head out to Florida.

    Thanks,

Larry, I purchased the coach from a dealer in Bend, Oregon, he had it serviced at Coburg early this spring before listing for sale. I asked the dealer why the screws in the bumper, was given the explanation in my other thread. Here is a paste from the service report. I did not “touched” the bumper, that is how i got it, 3 screws in the midle of it to hold the waviness down / minimum.

    Dick…

I have never had an issue with the age…..

When I call, I tell them the exact age and give them the exact last eight numbers of the VIN. They have always been more than helpful.

An auto operator answers and you select the category. Then, a person answers and asks what the issue is with the engine or a tech from Prevost comes on line and the process is underway. They ask the nature of the problem and then ask your location. Mine was overheating and I was North of Little Rock… The Prevost Pass tech will not render the opinion… he will defer to the tech he brings on line generally…

What Prevost Gold is doing is looking up an “on call” specialist they have pre-cleared… hopefully in the area… if not in the area, he could be from anywhere… I generally have asked where he is located and thank him for his time…

The tech from Prevost was superb and stated three times that if we lost contact, he would not give up getting back in touch with me. At all times, I expressed appreciation for the support… as we all would do.

This is the fourth time I have called them. He did look up the coach in his computer records and told me exactly which coach it was… its’ configuration, etc.

I know this goes without saying again but I have always been very careful about my demeanor when discussing the situation…once I got a rather contankerous fellow but he worked through the situation…I have always wanted them to know how very important their assistance is to me at the time…

If the service is needed, I would have the information available and give it to them before they ask…

    1. Your name and contact phone number

    2. The Prevost VIN and type of engine or series…

    3. The primary issue and your location

    4. The request for assistance

    Hope this helps.

I didn’t think Marathon coaches needed service? Was I mistaken? Or is Al just showing off for the camera?

I ran into the guy who was bringing the 2016 over to Hearthside and then to Canada. Seemed like a nice guy. He had to bum an allen wrench to put a license plate on before he left Tiger Run. He will be putting lots of miles on as he has to go back to FL when done there.

    Have fun up there, eh?

I’ve not seen anything like that on a Marathon Tony. So your Marathon has a second compressor with evaporators in the bedroom and galley?

When I get back to the bus, I’ll see if I have a part number from Prevost on it. I will say the tech fiddled with the inter workings for the better part of an hour to get it exactly the way he wanted it.. I watched the entire time and tested his results each time, per his request, so I know he was not just racking up the bill!

The part alone was $472 from Prevost. Probably could get it off the web for 1/2 that.

Diane, we also did the ipad addition (at Marathon). We mounted one of the crestrons in outside entertainment bay, makes it nice having one outside also. We love ours and think you will as well, we went with the larger size ipads.

Well I don’t have anything to compare it
to really. But I can tell you from what I read when I was researching it and
from my personal experience with the 2100XC for the last two months or so it’s
the ticket. They have made many upgrades from the old machine and if you are
like me and really have to have a combo because of limited space I say go with
    Splendide.

CC has been very helpful when I needed information on a couple of occasions. I would definitely try them. If you can get any information off the housing you may be able to find it with an Internet search.

I once owned a 1974 Harley Superglide. That was before Harley thought of mounting the motor to the frame using rubber motor mounts. Prior to that revelation the motor was mounted directly to the frame, no isolation. What I found was my mirrors, handlebar mounted of course, shook violently at any speed other than around 60 miles per hour. So with the exception of in town roads I simply drove the motor within its “sweet spot” and the mirrors were absolutely steady, no vibration. The housings were chromed but they were no problem. Sold it in 1998 for almost 3 times what I purchased it new. Yes it was a bowling ball, made by AMF that is.

So maybe you all have not found the “sweet spot” for your coach. Best wishes for getting these problems worked out to your satisfaction. Maybe disassemble the motor controlling the mirrors, remove the plastic gears then take them to a machine shop and have some good old metal gears cut to match. Maybe the gears are plastic due to a Presidential Executive Order to lighten up our coaches to achieve higher mileage ratings! You are laughing now?

My “classic” old 8V92, 2 cycle does not have shaky mirrors. I find it difficult to comprehend the slight difference in mirror placement between the drivers side and the curb side of the coach being a significant factor in shaky mirror syndroume. Sounds like salesman BS to me.
