    Jon and Tom,

I know it is a double edge sword when it comes to technology. The older the systems, the harder to find

original components, but as technology advances maybe there are options for replacement from other

manufacturers that were not available. We have had Royales on the list, due to the simplicity of their

systems, but having a coach from a converter that is still in business would be a big plus.

I am not sure that the acquisition of Country Coach by Winnebago is a good thing for Country Coach owners

or not. I have not heard or seen much about it since the original announcement. Most of the components

and systems are not proprietary and as such there are options, but the Country Coach card system appears

to be unique unto itself. What are the other converters using instead? I have heard of the glass dash conversion

to silver leaf, but is there an option for the entire system? Would it be cost prohibitive?

Our current Monaco is pre-bankruptcy, so we have been “orphans” from the get go.

Congratulations to Allan. He is a really great guy and I hope to see him again, if not when he picks up his coach, certainly at a rally. He is going to really enjoy his new coach and the experiences he is going to have.

    John,

There is a Silverleaf replacement for the glass dash Country Coach used, and the last I heard, the price was down to around $5,000, which is not too bad, considering the replacement Prevost instrument cluster we put in was almost as much, and the glass dash is a lot more visible compared to the Prevost dash.

    Hi Dick,

I don’t remember the exact date code but I’ve had it out and inspected inside and out. It has not been on the road and does not see any sunlight – so no cracks. I thought about putting a brand new one on a couple weeks ago but for ~750 bucks a pop for a new tire/mount & powder……. This one will get me off the side of the road.

Now – my real question is… should I actually fit a 12 R for the spare? My drive tires are 12R’s and the tire dealer won’t put 315’s on the drive. They don’t think I have enough room to eliminate any tire kiss. I have 315’s on the steer and tag. It would be ideal to have all 9 tires the same. My tag will lift so I actually have three extra steer tires available. I can’t see going back to 12R’s for the steer as the 315’s are SOOOOO much nicer handling. PS – I just put on some Goodyear “Duraseal” tires on the steer – they’re supposed to seal around small punctures for a little extra safety margin.

I’m just finishing up a two week trip through Canada and the Canadian Rockies and back though Montana, N Dakota, MN and have only seen a couple shreaded tires. However, it’s MUCH cooler up here.

I nursed the original Amana far too long. We finally bit the bullet after the third major repair failed to last and replaced the refrigerator. It seemed like the entire refrigerator was engineered to have all its components fail almost at the same time.

Liberty makes the refrigerator opening difficult to modify because of how the interior and especially the ceiling is installed. We had to make a relatively small modification to fit the Bosch but once it was installed and we began to travel again we both agreed instead of trying to stick with the original refrigerator we just should have replaced it when it first broke.

I think it all depends on how long a person intends to own the coach, and what refrigerators are available that will fit in the existing space. A final consideration is if the refrigerator can be used as is, or if it has to get some additional work to match the decor of the coach.

The A/C Select button will run the Salon and Galley airs off the inverters. You need to tell us more of what it’s doing, can you run the front or rear unit alone?

Last night I _ALMOST_ took the opportunity to improve my immediate comfort as I was standing by my car, until I realized I was in the parking lot of the hospital. Had to wait until I got home, but that’s how I did it anyway.
