Craig met Kate Smith at the Blue Room at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. In between songs (he was sitting in the front row), she asked him if he knew who she was because he was fairly young at the time. LOL! He said that she did sing God Bless America.

I did not know who Kate Smith or Julius LaRosa were until I read your note to Craig and he remembered them. I ‘bing’d’ both singers and they both had interesting careers. Kate passed in 1986 at age 79 and Julius is 85 yrs. old.

Btw, your tapes are VHS tapes that fit inside a VCR = Video Cassette Recorder (rare as hens teeth).
