Jon:
Thank you for all that you do for the “Prevost Community”. I have read many of your articles and enjoy the tech articles immensely. You are correct. I have already had someone speak of the “red ” vs the “green”. And of course mine is green… Frankly, changing oil once a year and coolant once every two years not too much to ask of us to drive these incredible machines. ….. What is the recommendation on changing the differential oil?

Power cool is a 2 year product.
There are a number of extended life coolants with the principle one being the CAT extended life meeting the EC-1 standard.
To switch from 2 year to extended (6 year) you must first make sure the system is devoid of conventional coolant because it will make an extended life coolant revert back to a 2 year life. Coolant chemistry in our engines is very important because it not only carries heat from the engine, it protects against freezing but it protects the cyclinder liners from perforation. Coolant maintenance is very impoortant.
One thing to be very much aware of is that types of coolant used to be identified by color. That is no longer the case and if and when anyone tries to educate you on coolant chemistry or properties by referring to colors take it with a grain of salt. What is important is that coolant meet the spec for your engine. Nothing else counts.

I looked at the website for that coach, and I agree with Gerard…it was very informative, and it sure looked like the owners of that coach had been caring custodians.
Personally, I want Jon to inspect any coach I am considering, and I want him to teach me how to use all of the systems. If I could get this arranged, I would even buy a Liberty!
BTW, I am getting ready to pull the trigger….I think

FWIW…..I would never ever, ever, ever allow a cleaning crew use a pressure washer in my engine compartment.
Just think about one short blast by mistake on alternator, electrical connector, ECU, it’s trouble.
Most components are built to protect from water while driving in rain. No way are they protected for a 1000 psi water blast.
I have not heard of Aircraft Simple Green but that sounds pretty good for all around use. I’ll check with NAPA.

I have driven the GW bridge many times in
an XLII and your clearances will not be your problem but keeping your teeth in your
month may. The road is in very bad shape with lots of potholes and traffic no
matter what time of day. Go north to the Tappan Zee its still bad in places but
much nicer over all road conditions and scenery. If you can avoid NYC do so.Fred

Al, you seem to be holding back-GRIN, longer, wider, and bigger. We want to see more of those “pearly whites”!

I think exercising care to avoid soaking the electric connections is the only real precautionary steps you need to take.
I have in some cases just wrapped them in plastic and used wire ties, other times I just avoid aiming the water flow at them.
Johns illustration of the Simple Green type is what prevents damage or corrosion to aluminum parts like the valve cover.
Do not use a hard spray on the radiator. If you choose to clean and flush that be especially careful because the fins are fragile.

Good question, never heard of them and no way to tell where they’re located.

I’m looking SO foward to climbing up 13 ft. to wax the new bus (not). LOL!
I’m sure I will wax it myself a time or two but probably will have it done by a professional also. I do find it good exercise though.
BTW, Bill and Tom, I saw your bus in person when I was trying to catch up with Al and Mary Ellen when we were looking at a new Marathon Coach in Indio, CA. (the next week we looked at the Liberty Coach on display). I knocked on the door but they were gone. But, I got to see how beautiful their (now yours) coach was and how clean. Have fun in OKC at the no rally, rally!

I have been following Prevost and do not have one yet, but I will tell you that I met Ken at Millenium and have dealt with him at Parliament a few times. I have looked at a Parliament coach and when I did I contacted him and got some very valuable information and education from Ken, Ben, and the others that he put me in contact with at Parliament. When I was at the POG Show this past January Ken probably spent more than and hour educating me on things about Prevost coaches.
Returning phone solicitations to everyone may be difficult as has been said above, but I can assure you that if you spend ANY face time with these folks you will be amazed at how obliging they are, as stated above.
Fabulous thriving organization at Parliament, and looks to me to be a growing one at that. If you have watched them for a while you can definitely see it.

Davy,
You combine the leads for 24 volt, instructions come with the charger.

I can only speak about my vintage, which was the last version prior to the “pinless” slides.
I have a row of circuit breakers and if I trip them all I have over-riddent the safety features. That I will only do if all attempts to correct a problem fail.

Tom
My fuel economy on this 7000 miles trip was 6
in the mountains and 7.3 on flatland pulling 2011 jeep grand Cherokee. For an X2 not bad my average speed of 59 to 64 MPH CC on.

The plated parts of the mirror assembly, could and should be made of polished stainless steel, their price implies that quality.
Just sayin, JIM

Simple fix; just remove driven gear on shaft flip it-now fan shaft rotates oposite direction.. drive gear is centered -just have to adjust backlash… ended up being to darn simple.. The upside I ended up learning allot about fan tip speeds and flow that maybe I will use this once..change took about 1 hr plus new oil seals… Bob
