Good afternoon,
My name is Mark, I work for Ramco in customer support. Thanks to everyone for sharing your concerns. There is a lot to address here, and I will do my best to help everyone. When I can, I will post/address the two main concerns. As I am not directly involved in or overseeing production, I will need some time to gather/verify any info to do so. In the mean time, for specific concerns/issues requiring immediate attention, please contact us at (800) 321-4819 and ask for Mark or David. You can also reach us by e-mail at customerservice@ramco-eng.com (for Mark) or dgary@ramco-eng.com (for David). We are the only two in customer support and I shared this thread with him. Thanks

Good… maybe 9 year old mirrors can get a free replating !! according to the previous owner they have been peeling for years… that’s just NOT good enough !!
-
I move mine from time to time too, wouldn’t want them glued.
If it were me, I would find a rubber seal, with a self adhesive strip, the correct thickness, mark where the mirror needs to be, and then move it and put the rubber seal where when the mirror is in the right place, the soft black rubber seal would hold it still.
You can get them all widths, and thickness.

Greg,
Obviously there is a lack of information. You likely have to start by getting the codes. They are there. You said you got a CEL and and SEL and they just don’t go away unless an inexperienced technician cleared them.
If you said it shut down without any warning or SEL lights then the advice would be completely different, but now your objective is to figure out the codes because there is no other rational starting point.

Dan,
A little tightening took care of the problem. Won’t need any parts just now. -
I think you will need air bags and a roll bar!

Wow! Peter, you may be onto something! I had a raccoon chew through the right tag lift nylon air line near what I believe is the tag lift valve above the left main wheels. I replaced the line, but have heard a hum coming from that area as the pressure is dropping after I shut the engine down. I’ll move a house battery for access and see if capping the supply line makes a difference. It took me a while to discover the critter’s handy work, so a high volume of air passed through that valve whenever I raised the tags, possibly causing corrosion. When I found the severed air line and the wire bundle he cut through, I thought I repaired it all, but he may have damaged the supply line as well. It’s well hidden and hard to reach, but I’ll check it much more closely and let you know what I find. I recently replaced the parking brake valve because it was leaking, but haven’t checked the new one lately. I stopped the leaks at the gauges once, but I’ll check them again as well. I know I’ve got seepage at the driver’s seat and my air actuated door, but the problem I’m searching for is larger than any of those leaks. The fact that the low air pressure alarm goes off at the proper reading on both gauges at the same time as pressure is rising tells me the gauges are not grossly off in their readings. Thank you for your suggestions.

It is a very hard and detailed job to maintain the bills of material. Errors can be made. But what separates the men from the boys is as soon as anyone notices an error or thinks there is an error, there needs to be a way to flow that information back upstream in the organization. There needs to be a simple way to communicate if there is an error and get a response confirming the error or why it is not an error.
In Mark’s case he lost 2 days. Jeff lost a lot of billable hours because he did a lot of work for nothing and he can’t bill Mark, and we know Prevost will not compensate him.
Some time over a bowl of prize winning chili we can discuss how I made my employees pay dearly for errors that got as far as the customer, and how once they understood how expensive it was to deal with that error why I was justified in penalizing them. This problem in part will continue due to what I see as a lack of accountability.

Tom,
Can you post the details on just reading the any fault codes. Not clearing them?
Thanks
Bill
