OK boys and girls. Jerry has discussed a problem that is not unique to his coach. I know for a fact our very own Tom has rather anemic AC vents, but his defrosters are moving a lot of air.
So what is needed is some elegant means of providing some regulation of the flow to the defrosters so that air can be diverted to the dash vents for air conditioning. The obvious solution is to tear the entire dash apart and fix the Prevost ductwork design so it accomplishes that, or go in a different direction and create an adjustable defroster vent that is dash mounted so an owner can add it with a minimum of effort.

Hi Jon, thanks for spelling it out! All makes sense.
I know just the place where to promote this and am sure that PC will gain a few new members very soon!

Wow! Having an aux compressor that only runs once a week is a phenomenal accomplishment.
I was thrilled when I managed to get ours to run only once or twice a day.
Congratulations!

Jack – Thanks for the heads up. Based on life experience, I would never have introduced liquid to the compressor.
Jon – What you described with respect to the red ball in the lower site glass on the reciever tank is exactly where I’m at.
88 degrees F today, high humidity.

Got the 30 pound tank of 134a today, and a longer charging hose. Turns out the fitting on the low side of the receiver is not compatible with the hose fitting. But it is of course compatible with the charge/service port on the compressor. So I’ll just go that route.
Looked for evidence of a leak behind the compressor pulley and the targets below, and could see clearly that there has never been a leak there. Still need to check pressure in the system.
Ambient temps in northern Illinois are ramping up this week with high humidity, and since my get up and go is inversely correlated, progress will slow.
Next steps: 1) put a guage on the fill port of the compressor to see what pressure is there with the engine off, 2) start engine to determine if ac clutch cycles, and if pressure reading changes, 3) if compressor clutch does not cycle, put a little freon in if pressure reading allows for it, and see if the clutch kicks in. Then will update again, thanks for the help.

Nice job Paul, I just did mine as well and it sure helps not to have that junk falling off the door everytime you open it.

Thanks for sharing pictures of your project. Looks like a professional install.

Rodger, check out autolumination.com for type of replacement bulbs you need for your turn signals. They have many bases and configurations for automotive type bulbs, although most are for 12v rather than 24 so you need to check the specs carefully. I think you will find a configuration with both the base and the shape for proper output that you need. Note that if you replace your incandescent turn signal bulbs you may need to add resistors to the system or change your flashers or else you will get the fast blink. I replaced all the marker lights on my XL from this site and they worked great. I did not change the turn signals, but that was only because I had about a dozen of the incandescents on hand. I have some of these in my Jeep also.

Jon,
Not sure how to post an active link to the forum. I tried the right click option but nothing shows up so I must be doing something wrong.
The website is http://www.soundown.com and you can copy the following into the address bar of any browser to go directly to the product I purchased.
I’ll help you here Paul: Soundown

The edit part here on the board doesn’t work for anyway Marathon had that coach for about a year on consignment and had a price of 199,000 others had for 175,000 down to 150,000 it didn’t sell so Chase dumped it at a bargain IMO
John Deere Credit has one I am looking at it’s a XL I am getting where I like those better than a H series they look more like bus but a H series is a fine looking conversion the right one for the price would be hard to pass up
The edit part appears to work fine!

Ditto what Jon said, if you have to remove a caliper, only go to Prevost.. Takes serious tools and equipment to get those bolts out and back in with the proper tourgue.

Yep,looks like Wyoming,or maybe the Dakota’s, parts of many states, but I believe you ,Wyoming
nice pics,good time -
A word of caution to all………The slides being discussed are Prevost installed slides. None of this discussion would be applicable to non-Prevost slides or all of it may apply. You will have to read your owner’s manual if your coach does not have Prevost slides.

Jim:
I was in your shoes six (6) months ago and your writings, questions, concerns, thoughts, were mine almost exactly. I took delivery of a coach from Liberty two months ago and can’t eco comments enough doing your research, and consider the choice to pay more and have a full PDI coach where the converter stands behind their product, service and reputation. I like you, considered many coaches and ultimately bought a ten (10) year old coach and wanted someone to stand behind the problems, issues and challenges i knew were coming.
We attended the Tampa show in January and it was there you could view each converter and make an assessment of the differences of quality, decorating taste, wants, needs and options. Attending the Branson Rally and / or POG Nashville function may be the BEST MONEY you spend in this process. The Tampa trip for me and my wife was…. It was in Tampa i learned the value of “bus air” or OTR and living in the south, it was an absolute “need.”
We have put 4,000 miles on our coach and I have spent a few nights on this site looking for help or on the phone with Liberty trouble shooting and working through varioius issues and trying to better understand systems, so the value to me is in a full PDI and being a member of this group…….
Patience is the virtue as you just go through the process to learn a specific coach, how all is set up, electrical demand, inverters, batteries, awnings, entertainment systems, etc. only then can you decide what is best for you.
Good luck on your search and attend one of these meets and go through the process and as Jon says – weigh your “needs” and “wants” carefully – as they will dictate your ultimate spend!!!Good luck!!
