    Thank you Jon,

I did everything as the book you sent says, the DD was not hot but was warm. Maybe the idle was high for that reason. It did the countdown and came up 5 9. The Beaver link you sent earlier is no longer good. Thank you for the new one.

    Hey Rudy!

I warmed it up by idleing with the parking brake on . It was in N when I pushed both arrows at the same time. It went through its countdown and showed 5 9. It was on low idle…

Look up a Detroit Diesel dealer like United Engines or Stewart & Stevenson… they can do the work. They are expensive per hour but my experience is that they do more per hour and the costs are justified.

    Something like:

    3065 W California Ave

    Salt Lake City, UT 84104

    801-415-5000

If they do not do the work, ask them who does.

    Hope this helps.

Not sure if your vintage is the same as mine but, my pump does not run when the auto fill is on.

Make sure when you press the button to auto fill…..hold it in for a few seconds to insure the valve stays open. On two of my previous coaches, I would turn auto fill on, walk away, and come back to find the valve did not stay open. I would then have to press it again to continue.

As stated above, Vantare’s have a water filter that filters the incoming water from the supply hose before it goes anywhere in the coach. If it needs changing, or restricted, that would cause your problem.

If you fill from the gravity feed, that does not pass through the filter, which is another way to fill the water tank quicker.

My primary big awning is a Girard and I won’t put it out in winds over 10mph … thus it’s only been rolled out during our PDI last November!

you can see how the XL is curved at the top where the stretcher arms are, not like yours flat walled. You can see the little knob on the stretcher arm is 1/4 way down from the top , the stretcher arm ends 3/4 way down the inside of the main awning arm with the hook on it, which then is removed and placed on the top wall of the coach in a eye plate to place the hook into, once the awning is rolled down.Zip Dee said that the new arm won’t work because of that , But I could be wrong !! They said they do not use the arms that are on it , they use the arms like you have . Maybe they are mixed up about it !!!!!!!

I hope nobody thinks adding a little more information to the signature lines is going to make us smarter, or make us actually post correct answers. That is asking a little too much.

Thanks Jon, I agree with you on adding a little. I asked Prevost to add some the other day, they would not. Said if it was low, it must have a leak, and they would not add any if there is a leak. This 04 I just bought has not had any added since new, until this past July, I knew it had to be a small leak. This is the only place I could find that was greasy.

    Butch & Dawn,

I agree with Tom. Check out Hish’s Liberty. I’ve been in it and know Hish. It’s a nice bus.

If you plan on jump starting the cables mush be of the highest quality possible with very heavy duty clamps. When you are forced to jump start, not only will the dead batteries be drawing power from the new battery source, the starter is going to draw a lot of power.

Wear gloves because when the bus starts if you grab the jumper cables to disconnect you can get a burn because the cable clamps are going to get very hot.

    Thank you guys,

We are considering that route or getting out west on 40 through Alberquerque .

We originally were planning 40 but then I saw something about people shooting at toads or trailers and thought about maybe taking a different route.

    Thanks again,

    Chris
