Based on some feedback in this thread it appears Michelin has two problems. The first is a pattern of tire failures on the 365’s with sidewall/tread separation.

The second problem is it seems owners with failed tires are not getting the customer support they need when the problem does not seem to be caused by the owners.

Everyone that has had the type 365 failure described in this thread please post as much information here as possible. Age of tire when it failed, any early warning signs such as a sidewall bulge or unusual tread wear and anything else you can think of. Also please state what financial consideration you got from Michelin.

I will summarize all of the responses and make sure Michelin is aware of the scope of the problem.

Mine had the same problem. After inspecting it turned out to be just an o-ring.

Try this website for all you might want to know to repair it instead of replacing.

Don’t know about first liar, but attended a wedding (long story) of one of the temp helpers we hired and ended up south of Houma and just outside Dulac on a Saturday night. If you know the south there it’s swamp anyway you look and those big Lizards were everywhere. Actually had folks looking for those alligators so it wouldn’t eat the drunks. Musta been 200 or 300 swamp people. I tried to leave early ,no sir they said. About 10.30 pm , 100 degrees and 100 percent humidity the fights broke out as both sides of wedding party, and they were all related, trying to kill each other. Should have seen that fiasco. Still have nightmares. The Groom and His brothers got me to my truck. They didn’t like me, a West Texas Boy, being there in the first place. Remember looking at my rearview mirror and those big temporary flood lights just a shining. If I lying, I’m dying!

We replaced the SRS this summer on our DDEC V. Looking at the engine it’s on the right side just to the left and below the oil dip stick – if I recall correctly. I needed a mirror to see it since it is behind the “fly wheel”? cover. It senses top dead center. We got a check engine light while driving but the engine ran normally. It wouldn’t start though after it was shut off since it lost the timing reference. If I recall the TRS is down low on the passenger or right side of the engine. Both are usually replaced together.

I don’t know if the DDEC I is simialr to the DDEC V though.

I can only wonder what happens when someone buys a pretty new coach from a dealership in Texas? Is the buyer notified prior to the purchase they are required to have a special license to drive it off the lot? How about test drives? Could that be why MHSRV doesn’t allow test drives unless you first sign a contract?

Another thing to consider is which base-plate you like. We have used the Blue Ox base-plate and Blue Ox tow bar on the last two Honda’s that we towed (2007 and 2013).

When looking for a new tow vehicle I found the new Lincoln MKX. It can be towed for down but Blue Ox doesn’t make a base-plate for it but Roadmaster does.

I was also wanting a new tow-bar as our Blue-Ox was 10 yrs. old but had been inspected several times by Blue-Ox and rebuilt recently. So, I went with the whole new Roadmaster system.

It will all work out fine but the Roadmaster is more clunky on the front of the bumper area. It can be all removed when driving around but there are just more parts to attach.

So far, I love the way the Lincoln drives and handles. I will tow it for the first time coming up soon. If you have any apprehension on which tow equipment that you what to use, investigate first.

The bearings do dry out and start shredding belts. I had the manual belt adjuster and had to replace belts every few hundred miles. The pulleys still turned fine by hand but I could hear the bearings and every so oftern one would lock up for a moment.

I upgraded to the automatic tensioner plus the pulleys that come along with it. No problems since.

I’m wondering when the bearing on the fan pulley idler will go….Probalbly should just replace it too.

Just this spring I had a situation where my at was totaled by someone else’s error. It took me two months of fighting with both the at-fault party’s carrier and then mine to get a settlement. It ended up coming from mine, mostly because my agent went up the chain to people in Chicago to get some satisfaction. In the end, I got 30% more by being persistent and fighting for everything.

My carrier DID try to stick to the letter of our contract which didn’t say much about the additional equipment I had installed. The other company just gave me a number and said take it or leave it. Had I not been of a mind to fight and of the means to do so I would have been screwed.

Sending Kudos to Jim, Chris, George and Becky for organizing and putting on such a fun non-rally. This was our first and it was great to meet all the wonderful people that attended. In can assure you that we will come as often as our work schedule will permit. It was also great to see all the different no-slides in attendance (and yes, Larry’s slide coach was very nice looking as well). I’m hoping that we get to meet all of you again at future events.

Is there a list of people going to Jeff’s in Oct?

    Be safe all,

    Doug

New car/truck. Take it back to the dealer and ask them the ramificaitons of disconnecting the battery. Or disconnect and see what happens. The service manual for the vehicle probably outlines what happens when the battery is disconnected and what has to be dealt with to bring the vehicle back to what it had been prior to the disconnect.
