They can handle the bus. We have not taken our Prevost but we did take our Eagle conversion a few years back from Cedar Island to Okracoke and then on the smaller ferry to Hatteras Island. We were also towing a Honda Pilot at the time. If you are over 65 feet with a tow car you will have to unhook and take it on by itself.

Fred I just drive mine across it’s just like the thousands of motorhomes that go up there on holidays never a problem I think to the border it’s a motorhome that’s one time it matters not to me what they call it , now mine is private bus not commercial , it may be different for commercial bus but not private . You need passport , no guns, what ever drivers license you need to drive it where it’s licensed , just check with insurance company to make sure you are covered in Canada. That’s it , you tell them you are going on holidays up there no problem.

    Paul,

Some time ago there was a company who was posting on PC doing stainless polishing work.

Not sure, Nashville maybe but could be as there are so many entertainer buses in that area.

    Someone on PC might remember.

I did a good look at a 2010 Parliament and I think they hit hit the mark electrically. They used off the shelf low voltage control systems for most things switched. Very little in the way of air systems, maybe none when parked. As for AV systems, what’s wrong with IR extenders and universal remotes.

Ben C knows his stuff and as already said, he is a EE. I wonder how many other converters actually have a staff EE.

    Les,

When we were on our last day of work we passed you as you were heading north on I-75, passed you on the right, and Tom waved at you. We were in the while Impala, and with Tom driving we were at a high rate of speed.

    We enjoyed seeing you again.

    Crippen,

Here is my spin on your potential plan to buy, gut, and rebuild.

The homebuilders on here will respond accurately because they have been there, done that, and I am only surmising. That is a valid plan if there is something about that Ranfy Travis chassis that is very important to you and that you possess the skills to tackle a project like that. The problem I see with that approach in today’s market is that there are some apparently nice coaches for sale in the market that will sell for near what you suggest it will cost you to rebuild the interior.

Lately I have seen several coaches offered for in the $50s to $60s and unless the photos are lying the conversion looks pretty good and the mileage on the coaches is pretty low.

There can be no question that if you start with a coach that has already been converted you are starting with one that has the necessary and expensive systems and devices in place. But if you can start with one like that, one that already has a more accepted floor plan then I think you would be even further ahead.

I noted you talked about putting a lot of money into a boat. That suggests you have been paying others to do work on the boat. A Prevost is no different. If you don’t tackle a lot of your own repairs the cost associated with ownership ramp up significantly. I am not suggesting everyone should do their own work, but I am saying if you choose not to do your own work ownership of a Prevost conversion might not be as inexpensive as it might appear to you right now.

Privately owned NAPA stores are not always going to honor the fleet discount card. You may have to go to a company store.

do you guys have air cyl on your entrance doors? I know the XLE (entertainer coach ) I have does. A 1/8 inch line and a small cyl I found a slight leak in just behind door lock Mechanism .Actuwaited by door striker and pulls door firm shut. Will look up tech drawing and see where feed is from. Also in any coach any age don’t rule out a line rubbed thru or chewed thru(XXX mice) usually can hear the leak of that size. Listen top center of each bay for noise. If you can hear any I may can help further with pic of how lines can be accessed without tearing floors up. Not really rocket science. Bob

if the 1996 Marathon 40 ft 2 slide “XL” has a green and white paint job, with an area of checkerboard, that is Marthon 409. Marathon had Rogue Coaches( now defunct)(Panterra Coach has the rights to all Rogue Coach proprietary info I understand) formally of Medford Oregon install slides before the conversion. It is also an 86 inch tall shell. A key signature of Rogue Coach installed slides, is driver side bay doors are hinged at door bottom and open swinging down. They also used a squeegee system to seal the slider s instead of air bladder. In 2004, while at Marathon Oregon, we were parked next to this coach where it was debuting an extensive remodel by the fourth owner who was the second owner. They had bought it again. I really like this coach. Steve B has this coach at California Coach again
