Thank You for advice the inspection will be very helpful! I am located about am hour south of Atlanta so getting a Prevost inspection may be tough but I will sure inquire!

Hello and welcome to PC..I have worked on that coach in the past however it has been several years ago. I know at one point it had sat for a long period of time trying to sell it. I assume it still has the bulkhead between the driver area and the living quarters of the coach. Not sure what else I can tell you since it has been such a long time since Ive seen it.

Cripper, given where you are located, I would check with Jeff (don’t know him, but Jon does) to see if he can do a PDI. I understand that he can do the house, so that becomes a one stop shop. Otherwise Prevost Jacksonville and Parlament/Clearwater. After Jeff’s comments, I would not consider that coach without a thourough check.

This coach had a beautiful picture of an abdobe type village on the side. I did not get a good shot of the picture.

It was parked at Prevost Nashville in Feb 2013 and had been wrecked. I think I may have saw it on the road a month or two ago.

Edit: It may not be the coach you are considering at all. Your description just triggered my memory on this coach.

Often the best deal on a coach is the one you walk away from. I am not suggesting you walk away from this coach if it is one you like and want, but before buying it at least get it checked out.

Jeff is probably the best one to do a pre-buy inspection on this coach because he is familar with the converter and the Prevost chassis.

Yes that is coach! Current owner told me of wreck where he caught a oak tree limb on side of I remver correctly. He did cut a pass through bulkhead and I need to look at craftsmanship a bit closer. I feel at what I can buy it at I will be able to afford quite a few updates or repairs if needed. As long as major are in working order. I would need to coordinate a time to get PDI. I thank all for responses!!!

Jeff thanks for reply! Bulk is still present but a pass through has been cut in…I am not sure of craftsmanship though. Do you guys do interior retrofits as well? Once again thanks for reply!

If it is repaired properly then the accident should be not problem but if that’s the damage I saw it must have been a big branch, maybe the trunk of the tree.

If it is the right bus for you then I hope it works out. Verify everything.

Can’t personally recommend this company, but they are located in the (North West) Atlanta area. They run a large fleet of Prevost Tour/VIP buses and do list “Service” on their website. With that many coaches they should have some experience with Prevost and may be able to do a Detailed Mechanical Inspection.

As I mentioned, I have never used them, but my neighbors son is a driver for them. he had one of their coaches over the house a month or so ago. Looked well maintaned and very clean.

I am an Entertainer Coach Driver,Been in the business 28 years,Though I have no connection to the coach you are looking at I do have a few observations about coaches in general,

1st. Dont put any extra value on the coach if it was owned by Randy Travis,It’s still a USED Prevost coach.

2nd. In my opinion,being in the business,coaches that are owned by the star themselves are usually not in that great of condition and have lots of little problems because they usually are driven by multiple drivers,and the driver doesnt stay long enough to have proper maintainence done. Were a leasing company of Entertainer Coaches has a shop of there own to repair the problems the star owner doesnt. The star owner usually doesnt have any ideal what to do to the coach,they just want it ready to go when they are.Taking a coach to a repair shop every week to have all the little things done is expensive and usually doesnt happen.I believe there to be some underlying problem with this coach and I dont know first hand,But I do know that Randy leases a coach to tour in,Why would you lease a coach to tour in if you had one of your own ? Something to investigate a little further!!!

3. I love Randy Travis and have been on tour with him hauling his crew years ago,A very nice man,But to me that doesnt mean you should get a bad deal on a used Prevost because he is a nice man. Have tha coach checked out and then do it again and make an offer appropriately. The photos included in this post look to be more than just scrapping an Oak tree,

Thank You so much for input. I am becoming more and more skeptical as days go on. Not that it wasn’t Randy’s but rather this coach is a good investment or even atleast a coach that I could use without worry. I never really put any emphasis on prior owner adding value but merely maybe someone would make connection of coach and Randy Travis. I would primarily use the coach to make a 4 hour trip to football games in Tallahassee with my kids. But like I said before I am not even confident at this point if I would be comfortable doing that. After further investigation I also found out this Coach has a rebuilt title from wreck in pictures above so that leads me to believe that you are correct …that was one BIG oak tree….sounds more like a Redwood!!! Once again thanks for all the input!!!!

Among this group of enthusiasts are many multi coach owners. Folks who have bought 2 or more Prevost conversions. These people obviously feel owning a Prevost coach is important to them. But few if any of the owners would ever use the word investment in discussions of their coach.

We buy our coaches because we enjoy the lifestyle that comes with ownership. But we also recognize no matter what we do there is a great expense associated with ownership. Having said that the value is in our ability to drink coffee out of our own coffee pot, use our own toilet, and sleep in our own bed on our own pillows. But the real return on the money “invested” is the friendships we make with other enthusiasts all over the country who share our enthusiasm for Prevost coaches. That alone makes what we spend worthwhile.

As to the specific coach you are looking at, regardless of its service history it has such an unusual floor plan I suspect that unless you buy it and drive it until the wheels fall off with little attempt to maintain it, you will have an extrordinarily difficult time ever selling it and getting any money back out of it.
