Polishing Advice
Does anyone have suggestions for polishing the stainless on my XLII? Everything is in great shape and sparkling, but that never stops me from trying to get it even brighter. I polished last year with regular wax an an orbital buffer. I am thinking about going after it this year with a dual action polisher and a better polish. Any advice for polishes? Any worries about getting swirls in the stainless?

Mothers is great and you can use an orbital or buffing wheel in a drill. If you “really” want to get into it and try to make it even shinier than it is now, you need the right polishing compound and some training skills. If it were me (and it’s not, but it is what I did) I would get some Mothers, a few rags and take my time working around the coach. Our coach has SS that was a bit yellowed and this treatment brought it back to clean, shiny silver that we were proud of.

Some time ago there was a company who was posting on PC doing stainless polishing work.
Not sure, Nashville maybe but could be as there are so many entertainer buses in that area.
Someone on PC might remember.

There is a company that works with RV paint pros at Mia Loma that does all the paint for Mia Loma he is one of the best. I think about $ 3,0000 to do whole coach I have seen his work before he did coach and after un believable the best.

Ouch! I actually like doing the polishing and for $3K I will enjoy it even more. I’m more curious about product suggestions if anyone has any. Thanks for the Mothers tip in the thread.

I use Adams polish and wax with a dual action orbital polisher on my 1998 and it looks good and the polish holds up really well. It is the same polish that was recommended to me to use on our Corvette.

Polishing stainless skins is an art. Depending on condition it might have to start with sanding using 1500 and up wet sandpaper. Once buffing begins the key is to use the right rouge for the finish desired and NEVER let the surface get hot. Keep the buffer moving and keep the pressure and strokes consistent.
Mother and the round Mother’s buffing wheel will clean up the sirface a little, but it will not restore a finish with micro-scratches. The condition of the skin dictates the extent to which you must go. It is a lot of work and very dirty.
I have seen a couple of amateur re-polish jobs and they looked pretty bad. I have seen some that were great. An entire lower half of a coach can take several days. This is not an afternoon job.
