Looking For a 40′
This is probably not the place to post this but I am looking for a 1998-2001 40′ Marathon,,, Liberty ,,, or Royale conversion.
It looks like its real hard to find a 40′ Coach. If anyone can steer me in the direction to one that would be great.

Obviously the places to look are on our coach for sale ads and all the other sites on the internet that list coaches, but posting here is also a good idea. Sometimes you can catch an owner on the fence that just needs to know his present coach is sold before he starts getting serious about buying his next coach.

why 40ft. if its truning radius– my 45XLE will turn with any40ft with the IFS front suspension. Check out specifications. Not necessarly going to be less expensive to buy or operate and resale might be lower. Not to to change directions but if turning radius was reason ck it out or ask Questions about other differances. Bob

I have to disagree, a 40 with IFS will turn inside of itself. I know that California requires a special driving license for any coach larger than 40 and a number of roads and by ways are strictly off limits for anything larger that a 40 foot coach. There a bit lighter, a bit quicker in the 1/4 mile and get a titch better mileage.

I was comparing to my old 40ft XL straight axle. to the 45xle I have now. I have a friend with a 45ft Setra that out does both –tag steers. Spooky! Don’t have factory spec. Just experience the differance and sharred. I have not driven a 40ft IFS. Life is good….Bob.

I think you might find one at florida luxury coach. They had one or two last time I was there, just ask for Floyd or Lon. Tell em Red sent ya. It wont save you a dime but I may get a wave next time I go by. LOL

I have owned a 40 foot coach for as long as 15 years. In 2004 I switched to a 45 footer.
My driveway is specific to a 40 foot coach. My garage and pit was built for a 40 foot coach. We loved our 40 foot coach. But there is no comparison between a 40 footer and a 45. Now my garage has less room around the coach. My drivway is such that I have to go through some serious coach raising and lowering to cross the uphill transition but not matter how inconvenient the extra 5 feet of length makes a huge difference in the living comfort and space available.
Do you really need a 40?
