    OK boys, this important….

The problem was the freaking battery temperature sensor. The plug (looks like an RJ11 phone plug) had a little corrosion and causing all the problems. Unhooked the plug all is well.

The guys at Inverter Service said it happens all the time, unplug them and forget it. Jeff told me the same thing.

So do yourself a favor and unplug your sensors.

Atlanta traffic is miserable unless you go through it around 2:00 AM. The rest of the day, especially the start of the business day, the end of the business day and around lunch hour when everyone is running errands sucks.

I cannot avoid it so I time when I go through Atlanta as best I can and I always go through it on the HOV lane entering around MM 238 northbound or MM 259 southbound.

Going around it on the by-pass, east or west sides for me in not an option because it is not an improvement, just more miles.

You probably have the same Trekmate security system that I have in my 99 Marathon. Check out the article “Troubleshooting the Trekmate security system” in the articles section of the board for details on how to reset/reprogram.

There is a three position hidden switch under the dash.

    Jon,

I have Safeco with a stated value and my brother is my agent. The rate has gone way up the last two years and there has been little he could do. After getting our April renewal notice, I had him check for any other options and AIG was the only option for stated value. AIG required all business to be written through them as a package. Progressive would write a policy but it was based off ACV coverage. I hope this helps.

If I recall the Vanner is an isolated supply but I can see from the Victron data sheet it’s an unisolated buck converter. There are two main issues to consider between an isolated and unisolated converter.

In an isolated converter there is a transformer between input and output. If something fails in side it usually blows a fuse and the output goes to zero or the input opens and the output goes to zero.

In a buck converter there is a FET switch between the input and the output. The duration that that FET switch is on controls output voltage. A common failure mode is that the FET shorts. This connects the input and output together. There are ways to deal with this as an example by putting a crowbar circuit across the put that shorts it if the output voltage goes to high, but it’s often not done.

The second issue is that isolated converter are by their nature less noisey then unisolated converters. This may or may not be an issue.

Hi Roger! I’ve been dealing with my dryer also, do you have a good air schematics to look at? I was looking at it thinking about what your saying, I just replaced my 2 check valves at the primary & secondary tanks that come from wet tank, they hold air in Primary & Secondary tanks for the brakes, but if you look from the wet tank the 2 lines that leave the wet tank, 1st one goes to Primary in rear(only) then the 2nd line from wet tank goes to secondary tank, but it also goes to supply acc tank with air, it goes thru protection valve at acc tank which is open till it hits 75 psi. So if the dryer is sneezing way to much air the Primary & Secondary tanks have 1 way check valves to hold air in, but acc tank does not, but maybe the protection valve at the acc tank is bad? So if the wet tank looses air quickly it will affect the acc tank, and if the check valves are holding the Primary & Secondary tanks won’t drop. I was reading about dryers, and they talk about a small amount of air drop when it sneezes ? Maybe dryer is sneezing way to hard and the acc tank isn’t that big. Maybe Dryer has a problem. I would like to up grade mine from Wabco Saver 1000 to the saver 1200.

That really bites to be dinged by the Insurance company for Mother Nature! Having a moving violations or accidents with another vehicle is one thing. Being in a natural disaster seems quite enough without your insurance company jumping ugly on you! Can you say “Jumping Ugly” on the forum?

I don’t want to find out how long the batteries last!

I vaguely remember when you zeroed out the coach in April/May of 2014 that “a battery in the computer” was replaced. Probably a good opportunity to replace it this week!

In addition to vibrating mirrors, the chrome plating is failing and pealing due to apparent inferior plating job by Ramco Mirror company.

The original design of the (at least) late 90’s XL/XLV entry door handle was very poor (spot weld to pot metal). Prevost apparently no longer has the original handle assembly in stock ($165) and is shipping what appears to be the XLII door handle assembly ($575) which must be modified to work (appears to be 3.5 hours labor by very accomplished and experienced Liberty Coach technician to modify what Prevost sent). So now it costs close to $1,000 to fix a door handle on the coach. It’s likely EVERY XL/XLV of that vintage will have its door handle fail.
