Do I really need an outside entertainment center?
Hi Group!
Olivia, just like many other coaches, does have an outside TV and Stereo “entertainment center”. In fact, it is contained in a nicely finished teak cabinet.
But, we hardly watch TV at all and the idea to sit in a resort campground with blaring TV’s outside is scaring us. So much so, that I am sitting here, polishing my stainless Mossberg.For me, the space taken-up by the outside TV is valuable, lost storage space.
What are your thoughts? Should we dump it and use the newly found storage bay? Should we not touch it, in case you come over with a case of beer, some scotch, rum, gin, rum & pretzels to watch the games? Any other ideas?
Needless to say, we could just take it out and put it into storage for when we may sell the coach in the future. But that means we have to have the storage space for it or pay for the same.

I have done in two previous builds. Not this one. Very little use. Not for the $$$ involved. bob

We really enjoy the outside entertainment center.. relaxing outside at night watching a game or movie is great for us. To each his own. The H has huge storage bays and behind my flat screen I have 6 storage drawers and a long pull out table and the 4 folding chairs… so NO wasted space in our compartment.

When you find the answer let us know. We have our first entertainment center and I do miss the storage space, but I am looking forward to some of the benefits.
We have always had an outside grille so no matter what coach we have that is one item we want and need. The new one is smaller, but it will work. The E center has a small refrigerator. I think that is going to be useful since I intend to keep it stocked with drinks making it easy to get a drink after a bike ride. The E center has a radio and I have often used one on previous coaches when relaxing in the lawn chairs. I am not yet convinced I will make use of the TV, but then again I never thought I would enjoy the heated seats when we got our first car with them.

I’m all for the entertainment center. Heck, I would put more stuff in there if I could. With the kids, it at least gives us SOME time to get outside, even if it is only to do what we would have done inside.

I find we use it more when we have guest. The one I think I would like best if I do it again would be build in a compartment hiden under a ghost door behind the bus sideing. Seen it once was hidden along rivet lines. It had a air lock release. Bob

A couple of years ago, we put one in our Eagle. I built it in the front bay on the passenger side, and it took up roughly half of the bay to do it.
What we discovered was it wasn’t really worth the money to do it, or the labor, it is a neat thing to have. But from a realistic standpoint, it doesn’t get used all that much. For my money, I think keeping the space is a better idea, now that I have stepped into both worlds, I would say …. You can live without it.
