  • Prevost parts online

Posted by Jacky on November 2, 2015 at 6:27 pm

So I am still reletively new to Prevost and the inner workings of everything. Looking at the Prevost web site for online parts it appears that I must open an account with Prevost before I can search on parts and pricing. Is this correct? Someone please direct me to the inner sanctum for Prevost parts.

I was the same problem and sent an email to prevost.parts.online@volvo.com. Here was the reply:

We had some issues with our system so we had to reset the passwords.

Please use ‘’ initpass’’ (in lower case) for the new password; this is for online ordering and parts catalogue.

Not sure if they reset my user ID or not, but it was working within 30 minutes of the email

    Steve,

I e-mailed Preost Parts Online and received the same reply and my access was instantly restored. You might want to change you password if you have not already done so….

JD, You are correct , you need to setup an account with Prevost before searching / ordering parts online…you should also confirm the parts you are ordering with Prevost reps, ensure they are correct for your coach unless you are absolutely sure you know what you want. Account needs to be setup in Canada, it may take couple days…contact Charlie, he is the net guru…

Thank you Sawbonz and DT. I thought so but just wanted to make sure. Is this also where one can see the Monthly? sales items?

We are not set up with Canada for a very important reason…. they will charge mistakes to your account.

When a warranty invoice is issued from the USA Prevost to Prevost Canada, it is not always correct. We have been called every time an invoice is due and there are usually mistakes that need to be corrected.

Surprisingly, our last invoice was correct. It has not been the norm with us. I’m not in total trust yet.

    Karl,

Not buying parts. Warranty work by a Prevost center.

I made the mistake of asking a few questions at a Prevost center when the coach was brand spanking knew. The service writer did not know the answers and charged me for asking questions. All charges were reversed.

One of the questions I asked: “do the brakes lights come on with the retarder”. I think a service writer should know that answer. And, as a new Prevost customer, a little direction on what is covered under warranty and what is not would have been nice. And no, the whole coach is not under the ‘Prevost’ warranty, the converter side is covered by the converter. The generator is not Prevost item.

    Mark,

I am puzzled by the statement that you were charged for asking questions.

Under what type of agreement would any service center attempt to charge a Prevost owner for inquiries? I do know that a Country Coach Center that has opened does require a charge if you do indeed seek to talk to a technician…. fully knowing that the CC Center will not be doing the work… I understand this situation because they are trying to be a profitable entity and are not obligated to provide access to their salaried people without some revenue being produced.

    Just asking your thoughts.

Wow, charging for asking a question. I could have been a gazillionaire in the welding/fab business years ago if I followed that line of logic. Well, i guess if you get them (techs) off a project to answer, maybe.

What happened was, the service writer didn’t know the answer and asked the tech, the tech didn’t know the answer and started investigating on my dime. The dime got flipped back in their direction!

I now say when I’m at a Prevost center, “are any of my questions going to be billed?” The answer is usually, “no”. But, you apparently have to ask.

Let me just say, that Prevost Nashville, TN (Goodlettsville) is excellent as is Prevost Mira Loma, CA. The issue didn’t happen at these two locations.

It may have been just a flook, but it should have been obvious that we were new owner’s. I was thrown off guard as I’ve never had that experience at a high end car dealer.

I have noticed some service facilities are not capable or willing to speak to customers, especially when the customer asks hard (or easy) questions. I have asked Prevost service managers questions and in more instances than should be the case I have gotten bad information.

Some have gotten pissed because I got the sense they thought I was questioning their skills or knowledge. The most obvious example of that was when I questioned the Mercedes dealer about a minor problem I was going to take care of myself, but I have had a sense of that from a Prevost service center also.

As non-commercial owners we may not really care about the minutia, but we do have legitimate questions. My first step now is to pull up the service manual, operators manual or drivers manual from the Prevost publications page. If the answer is not there I will break down and phone Prevost.

When we were at Prevost Jacksonville I asked both the lead tech who was assigned to our coach and the tech actually doing the work some question while I watched. I realize that I was being charged while talking to them and don’t have a problem with it.

One or both of them asked if I did work on the coach, and I responded I’ve done some work, plan on doing more, but know my limits. They weren’t surprised. I would be stunned if there is anyone at Prevost who doesn’t know and understand that many of the Prevost M/H conversion owners do their own work on the coaches to a varying degree.
