Karl,
Did you get a good deal trading the Liberty? It’s a techie looking thing, right up your alley!!!!

Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clear to the bone……..
-
If that thing gets 13 MPG it must be made of balsa wood and weight about 10,000# or they measured the mileage going downhill with a wind at its back.
-
If that ugly thing is 3 million, it is overpriced by 2.9 million!!!
-
A Liberty it ain’t!
Yes, I too think it is ugly, but that whole “low rent” comment about our buses is the thing that still sticks in my craw.

Pictures of that floated around a year or two ago and anyone that has a Prevost conversion will quickly pick up on a lot of issues that the media either ignores or is not made aware of. Not the least of which is the apparent poor use of space and a design more suited as a party bus than as a motorhome.
I would like to know how much the 40,000 pound weight will increase if it is equipped as our coaches are with the amenities we have come to expect. The interior view shows wide open spaces but what happens to both weight and the CG when it gets equipped with interior walls, washer and dryer, generator, holding tanks, ample batteries, and all the other goodies we accept as normal. It looks slick, but how will it look when it has bay doors, side marker lights, cornering lights, awnings, and access for such silly things as changing tires.
And it is highly likely today’s active converters who already have the technology and knowledge gained of years of experience will agree the development costs for something like that offering all that our coaches offer would be so significant that even at $3,000,000 a copy it would take a long time just to recover the development costs, much less make few bucks on the sale of them.
That thing will get a lot of ink, but it is as likely to become a commercial success as the Edsel.

This must have been designed by some Renault engineers! Except for a few cars from early 20th century, the french have always built some of the ugliest vehicles in the world……………(I was born and raised in France, I can say that) 🙂
