With the emphasis from your responses on the batteries, I have been researching my batteries more. I thought I had all of the charge settings correct when I put them in and for the remotes chose the standard AGM setting offered. After talking with the manufacturer today, the recommended setting for absorption charge is 14.6 to 14.8 (I was using 14.2) and the float charge is recommended at 13.6 to 13.8 (I was using 13.3). I don’t even have a setting that will get me above 14.4, but I will put it higher and the float charge can be up to 13.8. I will reset the remotes to these numbers and hopefully my problem is solved.

I take it that your existing drivers chair does not have the air suspension or are you replacing it with a conventional chair? I am asking because I was looking at both Flexsteel and Villa and I did not see any air suspended chairs.

For anyone that may be interested in upgrading or maybe even in purchasing their first coach. We will have about 10 pre-owned coaches on hand for sale. Parliament, FeatherLite and possibly Marathon will all have several coaches serviced and ready for a new owner at the event. Last year we sold over 50% of the coaches that we had available.

I suggest you contact ISRI(if ISRI seat) for correct seat model and part number. They will need your seat serial number which can be located on the front of the seat under cushion(sticker).

Contact Rick Short at ISRI, rshort@isriusa.com, ph. 269.484.5510, he can validate your model and valve kit needed, also provide distribuitor in your area.

Initially based on the docs I have I thought my chair is 6800-338…but the serial number revealed 6500 model, purchased and installed valve kit 917471-04, cost $120…

    Hello Andy,

We have the ‘crash avoidance’ system on our Liberty. The way ours works is if the cruise is on, there is a green light that will illuminate at the speed that I set on the speedometer. If a car in front of me is going slower (way up ahead), the system recognizes it. The lights on the speedometer will start to light up in yellow from my green light at my set speed and will light up showing the speed of the car/truck in front of me.

As I get closer and if I don’t lower my speed, the transmission will kick down slowing my speed drastically.

In a different scenario, if a car cuts closely in front of me, the lights around the speedometer will light up in all red and an alarm sounds including the severe downshifting to slow me down.

In the California accident, the bus would not have hit the trailer so hard and the alarms would be going crazy to alert the driver along with the severe downshifting.

Thank you all for the words of advice. I completely understand how the driving ourselves would be fun and there is a lot to see out there. Certainly, there is a lot to learn about coaches if you own one. I guess we’re interested in keeping the stress low, plans loose, every comfortable. While I may be interested in the maintenance schedules and wear items on a big machine, my wife is not. So to rent the coach, and potentially have an expert driver, seemed like a good way to start. If it was really great for us, I’m sure we’d look into becoming owners down the line. I have a few other factors that are leading me down this road:

    – We have a lot of sights we want to see during the days so figured moving at night, though not ideal, would get us to more places during the month

    – We really want to move in a big coach for comfort reasons but a driver would help make us feel more safe. We know the person to do it, and the personality would fit in fine. We are pretty open, and have people in and around our house who become friends, so I’m less worried about the ‘stranger’ part lasting very long. Plus I think an experienced driver could help us remain safe and know some cool places to park.
    – I’ve contacted some touring coach rental companies and all the quote are essentially the same. That is to say its about 1/3 MORE to do it with a Prevost + Driver + Expenses than to do it renting a lesser motorhome and driving ourselves.
    – That said, I’m brainstorming for ways to lower the overall cost of the trip. Was considering swapping our awesome house in the Caribbean for the use of a private motorcoach in July. There really isn’t a place to offer that sort of swap but both parties would make out quite well as we have the nicest house on the island.

The past many days I’ve been lurking on the forums, watching a lot of Youtube, and overall gaining knowledge on the topic. I tend to do that and quite enjoy it.

September 19, 2016 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Will Ruptured Gas Pipeline Affect Diesel Prices?

I’m in Asheville and hearing about a few fuel stations with ‘no gas’ reported, I decided to run down to the T/A station down the street and was able to pull right in to top off the Honda at $2.29 gal. for regular. My neighbor at the RV park said that the Exxon down the street and Sunoco across from the T/A were showing ‘no gas’ placards on the pumps. I didn’t check it personally as he told me the T/A still had fuel so I went directly there.

Our group will be going down to Lake Toxaway and I didn’t know what the fuel situation would be like there in the next couple of days. Now, I should be good for a week with the Honda and 1,500+ miles on the Liberty.

The ‘Elegant Lady’ is full (230 gallons) and now the Honda is full (15 gallons)…. My understanding is that diesel does not have a ‘flow’ problem.

    Fred,

Great idea, but I do not have a buddy plug on my bus. That is effectively what I will try to do IF the new breaker trips after a few hours. I will wire my 50 amp pig tail to the top of the generator breaker and bypass the wiring between the generator and the inverters.

As usual good advice Jon. I am considering ’08 models. I understand the radiator for the generator and the exhaust pipe is on the roof of the Millennium and wondered if anyone has had good or bad experience with these.
