New Mexico RV Park Recommendations
We are planning to be in in New Mexico in mid-September. Looking for reccommendations on where to stay. Albuquerque or Santa Fe? Will be coming in from the west. Any suggestions or advice aprreciated. Thanks

Chris, American RV Park….great park…reasonable and convinient to everything. How ya doing buddy ?

American in Albuquerque and Santa Fe Skies in Santa Fe.

Chris, no question American RV Park is the best in Albuquerque. It’s on the west side with easy access to I40 and Central Ave which is old 66. Santa Fe Skies is the definite winner in Santa Fe. It’s very easy access to the Plaza and all of Santa Fe and surrounding area. Both parks have excellent staff.

Thanks for the info everyone. George, doing well but can’t wait to get on the road for a while and forget about work (a dirty word I know!). Trying to see if I can get the time to get to Clawfest – we’ll see.

Chris, we reserved at Trailer Ranch in Santa Fe from Sept 11-17. I haven’t been there but it was recommended by several people as a very nice park and it is closer to where we need to be than Santa Fe Skies. I hate admitting that as of last week I qualify for the 55 age minimum and we will have no kids along this trip. Still thinking of Santa Fe Skies as an alternate though. Can anyone comment on Trailer Ranch?

One more vote for Santa Fe Skies. We have stay there many times and always enjoy the time spent.

Ditto on the Santa Fe Skies. We even met Kim and Deb there about 12 years ago right after we bought their previous Liberty.

We haven’t stayed at Trailer Ranch but did drive thru and check it out last trip to Santa Fe. It is pleasant enough but space is a bit tight and I believe spaces to fit your coach will be limited. You could walk to some services, which you can’t from Santa Fe Skies, but aside from the space It’s really an in town vs rural experience. SFS can have some great sun rise and sunset beauty. We use several different routes to town from SFS because we enjoy taking in as much of each location we visit as possible and Cerrillos Rd which takes you by Trailer Ranch is one we enjoy driving. If you are driving to the Plaza and Cerrillos is your route from both parks you are about 10 minutes closer from Trailer Ranch. -
Thanks for the intel, George. I think I will change my reservation. In addition to what has been mentioned here, Trailer Ranch does not allow check in after 5:30pm, apparently since they want to guide everyone into their site.
