How were they stealing content from this site? Were they copying posts and pasting them to their site?

No I’m keeping my Magnum’s till they die, and no I would keep the 2 smaller inverters and most likely Victron, I like Victron my BMV 712 I have had for 5 years and when I’m dry camping I like the info. I was just curious about the 2 inverters verses 1 larger, And Don your totally right about Wire size, I would not want that job changing wire.

Is this something you are considering for your bus?

Are you sure the alternator is the problem, and not the charging voltage or protocol that is handled by the voltage regulator.
My coach uses a single 50DN and the Prevost regulator setting is 27.7V which is perfect for my Li.
If the coach has a multiple alternator set up it my be the regulators are internal as smaller alternators tend to have in which case you may hae to use a different alternator.

Disregard, I see where I replied to you with pricing.

CC made a good conversion, but what would concern me is they had their own proprietary house control system.
If you know someone can support it, and understand it there should be no concerns. But if that support is limited to a single person or repair shop and the proximity to you is a great distance there might be a real downside.
While a Liberty also has proprietary software they still exist and support the coaches, as does Marathon, Vantare, Millennium, etc.

I have one on my roof, works like a dream.

Be careful with the ground for the dash. Had the bus air dash unit go bad. Prevost Winter Garden replaced it,but mistakenly put a different one in that had different grounding. It back feed through the dash ground and wiped out most of the gauges and made a few alarms (low air and tag axle up) stick in the on position.
Prevost Winter Garden replaced the dash at there expense but had to install a used one because new ones are not available for my vintage.

Sorry to hear about your friend Art, things like this making camping no fun at all. This issue has been something that has been brought up over and over on all the forums, you either need a lot of Money or a lot of tools and time if you want to own one of these Engineering Marvels.

Buy from Prevost. I don’t know what the Prevost pt # is.? Look it up.
Pt # is stamped into the outer edge of the rotor. My steer axle rotor is Meritor pt # is 3218-Y-1065. Use that # when buying from someplace like finditparts.com .

Jon,
thank you for insite on fuel mileage.
I have gone back 15,000 miles and the average is 6.5 MPG. We have mainly traveled in the western US. The only relativity flat ground was I-80 in Wyo and northern NV across 50. I am like you in the 1500 – 1600 RPM.
We do boon docking when travelling. rest areas, parking lots and where ever so jenny is running when warm and Aqua Hot when cool.
When fueling, I lower the passenger side of the coach so fueling is equal all the time.
I hope there some other comment.

After seeing Don’s Vanner EQ I pulled mine apart and took cover off back and it looked and smelled fine, I found a new Vanner 66-100 Equalizer on E-Bay got it for $ 425 free shipping close to me. I will save that one in my extra parts Just in case mine dies some day

Dan, I bought the kit from Prevost in Nashville. Part number 861663, it’s called Quick air release valve/handle. $1440. It has all new lines, connectors, new knob, and a couple connection blocks. They are all connected up and ready to go. Plug and play.

In spite of being a drag racer, Don is my hero. Updates like this are so helpful in keeping these elderly road warriors going without parting with enough money to put somebody’s kid through college. Even sprint car racers have to mind their nickles. Keep up the good work Don. Mike
