2 Inverters to 1 inverter
I’ve had a few motor homes and this rig has 2 inverters, I did RV repair for a long time and Prevost is the only one that uses 2 inverters? Our Royale is very close to a Signature series and they used 1 larger inverter, Do any bus owners switch over to 1 larger inverter?? What is Pros and cons of doing that?

Single inverter/charger = putting all your eggs in one basket?
If switching from dual to a large single, some cabling size would need to be increased.

No I’m keeping my Magnum’s till they die, and no I would keep the 2 smaller inverters and most likely Victron, I like Victron my BMV 712 I have had for 5 years and when I’m dry camping I like the info. I was just curious about the 2 inverters verses 1 larger, And Don your totally right about Wire size, I would not want that job changing wire.

The benefit of 2 vs 1 depends on how the converter installed them.
If the inverters are ganged so the total wattage is available to the inverter circuits one big is likely as good as 2 small. But if each inverter has specific loads such as each one powering a different A/C then the 120V panel bus bars have to be reworked if one large inverter is used.
A second issue is if the inverters are connected so the available wattage is the combined wattage of the two, then it is like if the primary fails, neither will function so that entire situation has to be given serious thought. I have 2 inverters of 4000 watts each for a total of 8000 available watts, but if the “mother” inverter fails I have zero inverter ability at which point I have to use shore or generator power and by-pass the inverters to get power to the inverter circuits.

Prevosts are power hogs, hence the need for dual 12v or 24v inverters. In the plastic world, 1 Zantrex or Magnum inverter providing 30 amps for receptacles, microwave, fridge and low voltage sources is standard, beyond 30 amp needs, start the generator or plug to shore.
A bus with a 12v system can easily get by with 1 inverter, as long as power needs are small.

Newmar puts two in the King Aire, and some other models…so does Foretravel and Renegade if not more. It is needed in coaches with large power needs like running a/c off of the inverters while driving. Nothing different than my Prevost coaches other than they were 24v and the Newmar is all 12v.

I had an all electric 02 Monoco w/two 3000w inverter/chargers. Needed two mainly to charge the large house battery bank quicker than if it only had one.
