I had a brand new Interstate Group 31 fail at five months, Interstste charged and load tested all four, one had a bad cell, replaced at no charge. Then at 3yrs 9mos they started to go soft. I needed to charge them with hardwired onboard charger. Finally the four wouldn’t take a charge. Pulled them, turned them in as cores, bought four new NAPAs. (Done with Interstate, I’m exclusive NAPA batteries from here on out.). I didn’t have time to load test.

At 4.5 years the batteries could be done. All it takes is one bad cell or one bad battery and the four just can’t get the job done. If it turns out one is bad, replace them all. I’m told that after 6 or 9 or 12 months months if one goes bad, replace them all.

I don’t know what others expect from there chassis batteries, but I’m expecting to replace mine at five to six years. You’re getting pretty close to that.

I left the original lights and did not want to add more to that circuit. When you next come to Jeff’s get in touch and I can show you, and we can catch a lunch.

You will have to have a car capable of getting up our driveway.wink

When I say it is bright it is very bright and I wanted to make certain I did not overload the original circuit.

    Davey,

We found some high quality 24 volt LEDs (on Craigslist) and installed them as a direct replacement for the incandescent units…used short sheet metal screws. We did so in every compartment and they are bright. We have a couple left over that I can send you, but wouldn’t be able to do so for about 6 weeks.

The aquahot heat exchanger in the water bay of my 95/96 Vantare is on its own thermostat. Mine is a round knob tucked up out of sight in the water bay. I looked a bunch of times before I found it. Mine also has an electric heater on the ceiling of that bay with a thermostat in plain sight down below. As long as my generator is running, my full water tank will never freeze. They are on opposite sides of the same bay.

A: I already have a new air bag from Prevost!

B: I have excellent road service, it’s just a matter of deciding if I want to put it on the hook and have it towed to Prevost or whether I can find a mobile service that I would have to pay for. I am working here in Richmond so I have not done anything yet and it’s not critical that I get it done today but I do need to get it done “shortly” before the company tells me I need to move.

If you remember the days of tire patches where you removed the tire, scraped it clean, put down some glue and a round patch and remounted the whole thing, I would like to have a round patch with a rubber extension in the center that I could push through, allow the round patch to expand and the air pressure would hold it in place for 30 miles. Pretty sure I will have to patent my invention and I will be the only one who will every use it but wouldn’t that be awesome!

Monday we will start making calls and see if we can find anyone willing to help us out of our bind. Prevost won’t so I have to find someone who will.

Your understanding was at least partially correct, Jon. My description left room for misinterpretation. The box was loose at the top and leaning. It was not completely fallen. It is secure now. Thank you.

I am finding nothing loose, burnt or corroded in the box above the engine. It was hanging down quite a bit more. It was loose before the engine came out, but now so loose that I could not swing the door open without lifting it up. I put some screws in it to pull it back up tight.

These are the connections on the rear start switches.

Does anyone know what these five relays are for? They are not listed on the Prevost sticker on the door at all. Four of them have labels that say Stop, Left, Right and Converter Bypass???.

I have not started the bus since I first posted this, but we have about 80 miles to drive Saturday. I am hoping for no more glitches, but keeping my eyes open.

I sat in on a seminar Tuesday at the Prevost Motorhome Expo where Robert Hitt of Prevost showcased Prevost’s increased service locations and company service trucks. Based on what I heard Tuesday from Robert, Prevost should have been much more responsive to Bill’s predicament than Bill is experiencing.

Or did I misunderstand what Robert said on Tuesday. Anyone else in the room hear what I heard? Or something else?

I agree with Al Perma about our coaches not belonging in the fast lane, but despite the fact I know John is a big boy and can defend himself I’ll post my opinion of why he was not in the slow lane.

First If I am correct about the exit in question it is one for an outlet mall. As traffic is approaching the exit is is an absolute cluster because people not wanting to exit to the mall that are in the slow lane will jump out in the lanes to the left without warning. Conversely people in the fast lanes who intend to get ahead of everybody wait until the last minute and then swing right and try to bully their way into the exit lane. In other words the morons are singing left to right and right to left and for anyone going straight through the only thing that can be done is to pray.

I went through there last fall and the lane changers had confused th situation so bad traffic had come down to walking speed a mile or two before the exit because nobody was in the correct lane, there was mass confusion and it was sheer luck nobody was bending metal.

    Buddy,

Not sure, could be the campground connection. With the Progressive and short cord plugged in, could not get power to the coach. Using the cord from the coach to the campground connection, everything worked. No worries, it could all be operator error. I will check it all out when I get home. I will readily admit that the Marathon systems are a bit different then my last 2 coaches, a Royale and Liberty. It will take a bit of time to sort out all the little issues that I may be self inflicting due to lack of knowledge.

No worries, It is all good. Learning a new coach and it’s systems is part of the fun of new coach ownership. I have been studying the Owners Manual, that has helped.

Thanks Buddy for a great coach.
