An important side bar to Pilot/Flying J fraud scheme as most victims were unaware of fraud. For a long period of time prices from supplier or as known in the industry as the… Rack Price… were never disclosed.
Rack Price is the fuel industry term phrase for cost price. This is price per gallon when fuel drops from overhead filling hose into the transport truck.
The Feds had a real advantage on this fraud. Wire taps were granted and followed by the Feds for appox 1 +/- year before the “weasel” round up began.
Another important part of this case was how it began. A staff office assistant went to feds with the fact that main victims were the mom and pop small trucking companies who took the word of Pilot/Flying J that business was so tight their normal monthly additional discount would not apply.
By holding back profit dollars it increased company profits then increased bonus dollars at top level employees. It was going on for years, which sent the fraud to millions of dollars range.
Jimmy Haslam / plus Hazelwood and the other weasels must believe that pigs can fly. Bottom line is wire taps tell the truth.
Loves truck stops was a big winner in this case. Picking up many Pilot / Flying J locations leveling the playing field. One that stands out is Des Moines Iowa Flying J on I-35 now a Loves.

It may be a bad connection relating to the alternator not seeing the real battery voltage so the alternator thinks the battery is low and tries to bring it up.

Jon, every once in awhile you say something that actually makes me smile as I make the next dues payment. I know nothing good can come of my saying this but Jon, “That was brilliant”!
I thank The Good Lord my woman doesn’t mosey on over to the Forum.

George,
Didn’t you buy the Guest 12/24V charger for the start batts like I did?
If so just move it from the engine bay to the house side. The instruction manual shows how to wire both side for 12 volt vs the 12/24 configuration for the start batts.
But I bet Tom is right, my 458 internal fan failed right before Bella Terra 2 years ago. Buy a small fan and put in on the vents in the case of the 458. Charging overheats that thing fast.

Hey Dick,
It’s about the same in every state to get CDL. Do the written, get your permit, go back in to do the driving with a licensed driver. I have one but as with others, I don’t have or need the physical card as we are not driving commercially. They will put a restriction on your license only to say you can’t drive Interstate “commercially” without a physical. But here in Wisconsin, we don’t need a CDL.

See the big nut on the intake and output of the pump, those about 2-1/2 in diameter with the wrinkles, grip moulding on them, just turn counter clock wise til loose and the pipes will come off of the pump. there will be a gasket of some sort under the nut.
at least that’s the way I see it

Jon, great information, I had not been comfortable running at 2,000-2,100 RPMs up grades, but I will now. I do run the performance mode, but have not been using cruise control. Thank you.
Dick, I have not been running full throttle, usually 1,500 to 1,800 RPM and down shifting to maintain those RPMs. I will be letting the computers make those decisions. I will be trying Jon’s method.

This one does not have a Vanner monitor. When I was reviewing the Vanner models it was the first mention I saw a monitor. Can one be added?

We just went through the insurance tussle when I sold my ‘15 Dutch Star and added the Marathon. Was paying Progressive 14500 for ACV on the DS. I have the ‘08 Marathon on agreed upon value of $500K with them and yearly premium is $32XX. I could have it for $2600 on an ACV policy. I’m more comfortable with agreed value. Oh yeah, I’m in NY State. – Ron
