I would bet the threads are standard pipe threads. If you can determine the size by measuring the search can be more precise, but just doing a broad search I came up with a site that has a wide selection.

I think Stant is the company that makes the brass non-vented caps, you may have to verify the size.

The pump kept cutting off so I had to make multiple trips inside to get it restarted. Lines were long so my wait each time inside was long. After the last pump restart I noticed that the cap was gone.

There was a lot of vehicles around the pumps. I was not focused on the cap. Just the fueling. Really a shock to me that this could happen.

What more do you need to inspire you to participate in the fuel discount program?

You not only don’t have to make multiple trips inside, you don’t have to stand in line, and you don’t have to leave your coach.

The greatest excuse we hear why folks don’t like the program is they don’t want to have money automatically deducted from their checking account. Set up a separate fuel purchase checking account and only keep enough money in it to cover estimated fuel costs If you don’t want to do that enroll in the credit card option. You don’t get the discount, but you never have to go inside or stand in line.

If you won’t join because you can save a few cents by going to a local cheap fuel truck stop you assume your time and the inconvenience is offset by a few cents per gallon.

First, our brass gas cap is not tethered to the tank but the blue plastic DEF cap is tethered. I set the brass cap next to the fill neck when fueling so it’s in the ‘cubby-hole’. If I were to leave the coach, I’m not sure anyone could see it unless they stuck their nose in there.

Secondly, I was one of those people that didn’t want ANYONE to have access to my checking acct. Well, I bit the bullet and signed up for the fuel discount program.

WOW, what a major convenience not having to go in and wait in line like I did for years with the other coach. There has NOT been one discrepancy with auto-deduction.

During the twilight of my working life I worked directly for the chief risk officer of a large, regional bank ($60 billion in assets). Part of my job was to compile the Operational and Fraud Loss report for senior/executive management of the board of directors. The data came from every unit of the bank and holding company.

While we experienced our share of fraud and account compromises, I did note that we rarely if ever had an instance of a customer losing money as a result of a fraudulent Automated Clearing House (ACH) withdrawal; it appears to me that the charges for our fuel purchases are deducted from our checking accounts using the ACH system.

Anyone who you write a check to (or sees your check) or anyone who automatically deposits money into your checking or savings account has ALL the information necessary to use the ACH system to fraudulently deduct money from your account.

BUT … BUT … BUT not just anyone has the ability to use the ACH system. The system can only be accessed through a bank and the bank is responsible for performing due diligence on customers who want to use the system … integrity, honesty, business type, financial capacity, etc. The initiating bank also has some financial risk in the event of fraud use the ACH system.

From the National Automated Clearing House Association website: With the increasing movement toward an electronic, interconnected and mobile infrastructure, it’s critical that electronic payments work safely and efficiently for all users. The ACH Network enables just that: by using batch processing and a store-and-forward system, it moves $43 trillion and 25 billion electronic financial transactions each year. For more than 40 years, NACHA has been the steward of the ACH Network, employing a collaborative, self-regulatory model to facilitate the expansion and diversification of electronic payments on the ACH Network.

$120 billion a day. 70 million transactions a day. Only Joe Biden can describe how big of a deal the ACH system is.

Many banks today offer a service to send you a text message every time certain kinds of transactions hit your accounts. Implementing those features can help you be more aware of what’s going on with your accounts, help protect you from fraud, and put your mind at ease in using these financial tools.

We’re more at risk for having our prized brass fuel filler caps stolen at the fuel island than we are of having unauthorized money taken from us because we’re using the PC fuel discount card.

When buying one of these fuel caps buy an extra one and have a valve stem installed in the cap, there is four soft solder filled holes, remove the solder from one and place the valve stem in it. if you ever get an air lock in the fuel line from replacing the filter or such you can put this cap on and then use the aux compressor to pressurize the fuel tank and force fuel through the system, it can get you out of a bad spot if stranded..

The tank is vented. But if you could pressurize the tank if you get more than a few PSI in it you might end up with some excitement.

I have implemented many ERP systems understand the security of the ACH transaction. I have just been too lazy and stubborn to do it.

X2 on using the PC Fuel card. I tend to be extremely security conscious, and monitor our card purchases, checking & savings balances, and other account balances pretty darn closely. I set up a separate checking account expressly for the fuel card use. We’ve been using it for several years now, and have not had one problem. And it also appears to me that the number of “non-Love’s” stations/truck stops participating is increasing as well, increasing the value and flexibility of the program to us. For example, the “non-Love’s” card was accepted at several Speedway fuel locations around the Nashville area the last couple of times we were there. The program overall has definitely made our wanderings alot easier and less stressful.

Yes the tank is vented, but as I have ran several service calls out on the freeway to help a stranded trucker who ran out of fuel, I have used the air from my air tank on the service truck to put air in the tank to prime the truck and get it started’ their tanks are vented also and they are small. don’t pretend to understand it just know it got many a truck off the highway

Every truck fuel tank I have seen has been a metal tank, either steel or aluminum. The tank in my Preovst is plastic and I would never pressurize it. Jon is right, it could get real interesting, really fast.
