Mark, that’s cute. Margrit says hello! Has Craig heard any polar bear jokes lately?

Jon knows his stuff on Prevost. Plus he know his insurance!! Agreed Value is a must. Since I still work don’t forget the to max the medical coverage becasue employer plans exclude coverage for accidents. If you own a business or ten adding aditional liability is cheap insurance. People see $million coach they start thinking free $ from a law suit. I’m with National Interstate through RV America Insurance, Inc. agreed value $2million with $5k deductable for comprehensive and collision. My premium $18,691 annually. Seems high the premium jumped $4 or $5k over the winter from a quote I had in the December. Seems there was high number of claims and several carriers stopped writting policies. I had Safeco on our 2013 Tiffin Zephyr had $400k agreed value $2,500 deductables the premium was $1,800 annally. So I was expecting $10k max premium. After seeing this discussion I feel even worse!!

It can be purchased as a small roll of sealant or waterproofing gasket.

I have used it and it looks like glazing putty, but I am sure there is a name for it.

    Walt –

Had the same problem when June and I left Carlisle Sun Fest this Spring. I would push the sewer button in and out, and would hear a lot of noise, but the sewer hose would just lay there and laugh at me. Thought I had a hole in the sewer hose.

In the first picture you are looking at a black hose going into a quick disconnect to a venturi which puts air in or out of the sewer hose from the holding tank. Do not disconnect this black hose (this is in your water bay) because it is tied directly into the pressure tank of the sewer system. Marathon aux air needs to be zero. You will have to disconnect the clear braided hose from the brass venturi to clean it. Make sure all the holes are unplugged. If you have moisture there, you are getting moisture from your Marathon aux tank. I installed a Speedi Aire air dryer going from the compressor to the Marathon aux tank in the compartment under the driver’s seat. The Marathon aux air system is now completely dry. This venturi will plug up if you have moisture in your Marathon aux system. That’s why you have a ball valve in the floor of your water bay to drain water from the sewer pressure tank.

In the next picture, you are looking at the same black hose going into the solenoid valve coming from the sewer pressure tank. If you have moisture in your system, this will corrode also and is typically the heart of the problem. This is also located in your water bay – not easy to get to it. Ours is behind the water pump.

Here is a picture of the solenoid valve. We replaced that and cleaned out the venturi valve (costs about $90 for the valve). Now if you stand in front of the hose, it will knock you out when it comes out. Goes in and out with no problems! Make sure you get the air flowing in the correct direction if you replace the valve.

As Jon and Tom always say, you can never have your air too dry as condensation causes most of our problems.

    Hopes this helps!

Thanks, got it. My compressor has a sight glass on the curb side and another sight glass with fill plug on the road side.

Oil level appeared to be high in both sight glasses, so I cleaned the area around the fill plug and cracked it loose. Greeted by the escape of a mixture of high pressure gas and oil. Let it hiss for a minute or two thinking it would stop but… Closed the fill plug.

Anyone know what’s going on? I’m guessing there may be something wrong internally allowing freon to leak by the compressor pistons/rings and pressurize the compressor crankcase or should I just let it hiss away for as long as it takes to depressurize? The OTR is functioning normally at this time.

It is a great trip! We did it on our own last summer and had a great time. If you are ok with boondocking a few times getting from point to point no problem. Larger towns there is no problem for sites and 50 amp. Dawson City and Top of the World great drive and beautiful. No problem with road, a couple of rough sections in construction.

To much to tell with my slow typing. Be willing to discuss on the phone.

You are right Tom, Prevost said this coach was sold to Liberty with Prevost Level Low system which has the turn switch for the front, RR and LR control. This coach has four rocker switches for the controls.

Part number for these rocker switches is 511.141 made by SWF. They are a 3 position with 6 spade terminals.

Called Bill in ILL. and he is searching.

Jon, this coach Level Low system has 12VDC for the leveling Norgren solenoids and 24VDC for the drive function and it’s Norgren solenoid. That is what thew me off on testing the ohms on the coils.

Oh,,,, it is indeed an Elegant Lady,,, sometimes more “Elegant” than others.

I can’t even back the race trailer into the driveway with the Suburban on the blind side … I end up all over the lawn. Have never tried to back the bus or bus/trailer from the blind side down the driveway. If I’m going to be headed in the wrong direction, go around the block and get headed in the right direction!

Don’t mix up apples and oranges. I suspect for those unaware there are a couple of coolant loops, one being the converter installed and the second being the original Prevost installed. If I am not mistaking Truk is talking about the Prevost coolant loop going to the heat exchanger for driver’s air. On OTR equipped coaches there is a similar counterpart on the whole coach heat exchanger also.

My answer dis not address this, but I leave those loop valves untouched also.

    Susie,

We have stayed there several times. I can’t recall which loop but we have a dog so it’s always been a pet loop. Tell them you are 45 quad slide and they have always put me in a spot that will work.

    Have a great time!
