Thanks for the replies. Our heat/air conditioning controller has a driver side and a passenger side with a window to select temp and a switch to select air conditioning/heat/defrost fan speed along with a recirc switch and selections on how to distribute air – all on the controller unit. We do not have OTR air so the “passenger” side of this unit has no power and is inop.

Separately there is a rocker switch for heat and another for air conditioning. We do not have a separate rotary switch to control air conditioning/heat/defrost fan speed. I think the “Heat” rocker switch allows the water valve in the front of the coach to open. I’m not exactly sure what the “air conditioning” switch does. Does it engage/disengage the clutch for the air conditioning compressor? What in the air conditioning system causes the engine cooling fan to go to high speed?

To get out old and install new I removed the front right headlight and plastic bucket behind it. Easy peasy. New motor = Prevost# 562167 – $80, or Mobil Climate Control# 25-0135 – 24vdc, and now mine is quiet as a mouse.
4 screws hold the Liberty cast aluminum surround on, disconnect the turn signal, I drilled out the 15 1/8″ ss rivets that and some silicone that holds the bucket. Cut the silicome that seals around the bucket perimeter, remove the bucket. Remove an adel clamp bolt that;s in the way, then remove the six 5/16 hex bolts that hold the motor on the hvac box. Remove the squirrel gage fan from old and install on new at the same depth. Remove the electrical plug from old and install on new. Reinstall in reverse order.
I’m putting it back together with ss screws instead of rivets after I change the Webasto blue hoses with new.

Grumpiness has set in and we no longer use or carry our cell phones unless I specifically asked someone to call. That might happen about once a year.

We do not even answer the house land lines any more because if someone other than a telemarketer wants to speak to us they will leave a message.

It is now very close to discontinuing all phone service.

Hidden – I do not recall seeing what you reference…

My CA unit was built in either late 2005 or early 2006. Wonder if my vintage of unit had it….just do not know.

Is it a big issue to have the date box back ? It makes it so easy to pull up all messages.

Why was it removed in the first place ?

Something else. There may not be too many people on this thread, but i think this is a very important topic. My guess is, more coaches end up on the side of the road due to tire, brake, and axle related problems, than any other. A good friend, and Prevost enthusiast, once told me more coaches catch fire due to tire fires than any other cause. Don’t know if that’s true, but is seems possible. As long as a coach engine and transmission are serviced regularly, they seem to be pretty much trouble free, but the tires, brakes, and axles, take a beating everytime your out.

Check the Prevost parts manual that should have come with your coach, it shows various window panels for your coach.

Yes, definitely good sleep can be had in a rolling coach, once you get used to it. Like a rocking cradle. Can’t say about the bunk bed, but as long as it’s comfortable, should be the same.

    Thank you

Ah – I forgot to mention, the screws in the door edge that go thru the nuts turned on edge in the “box” also engage the groove of the cylinder to keep it from being turned from the outside. To prevent a crook from being able to remove the cylinder.

So remove the kick plate and loosen those screws, don’t take them out until the cylinder is removed.

For my clarification, Joe, look at this picture, please.

I removed the flathead screws completely. They were held in place with a nut inside. There are two small phillip screw behind the two holes that are circled in red. Are those small screws the ones that hold the cylinder in place?

You said to loosen, but not remove. How far should I expect to loosen them before the cylinder is removable?

    Or have I completely misinterpreted?

I’m with Bill on this one, but I am going by memory. Having said that however my recollection is based on a solid axle 97 model coach. If you have IFS your numbers are probably different for the steer.

The drive and tag numbers I think are correct.

Al, ask him to do two things. Have him sign on to PC and then never hesitate to ask questions. Make him comfortable with the fact not a single one of our 4500 members knew anything about a Prevost when they got their first so any and all questions are valid and important.

You may give him my email. It is active by clicking on my user name on a post. I have had 3 Libertys including a 97 so I may be able to help.

If he is getting or not getting shore power to the coach that can be a contributing factor to some issues. Start with the shore power receptacle and make sure it has power to it. If it has he has things he needs to check, but he does have options. I think he has a cord reel. If that doesn’t get power to the coach, he can try the connections on the sideof the coach with a power cord, just make sure the switch in the transfer box has the power source selected. If still not power (might be a contactor in the transfer switch) start the generator and see if that get power to the coach.

If anyone is uncomfortable with electric get someone that is. Shore and generator power is dangerous.
