Any suggestions on what loop to request when camping at Ft. Wilderness Campground? While we have camped often at Ft. Wilderness with our previous 37 ft MH, our upcoming trip will be our first visit with our H3. I know some loops are tighter than others.

What has your experiences been or recommendation for best loops to accomodate a 45 Ft coach.

    Susie,

We have stayed there several times. I can’t recall which loop but we have a dog so it’s always been a pet loop. Tell them you are 45 quad slide and they have always put me in a spot that will work.

    Have a great time!

We camped at Ft. Wilderness just after we picked up our new H3-45 VIP last November 2014.

One thing to watch out for, the entrance kiosk is a little low for an H3. We had to lower all the way down to get under the canopy. Ft. Wilderness is in the process of designing a new entrance kiosk but I’m not sure when it will be ready.

As we drove under the canopy, all was fine. Just as you exit the canopy there is a speed bump (amazing)….as we drove over it we didn’t hit anything but I just can’t believe that they have not removed it and maybe put it out further in the open area.

I tried to pull up a map of the resort but can’t find what I’m looking for. I can’t remember the number of our site but it was fine. We just had to be careful of the over-grown foliage. We were walking distance to the on-site restaurant (maybe 10 minutes), so we were fairly close.

    Have fun,

600 & 700 are the better loops for big rigs Darrell

    Mark,

How tall is your new liberty? We are 13’4″ to the top of ours… and haven’t had any troubles in or out of the Fort.

    Bill,

Since we got the lap pool option on the roof…. we are an even 16’…..

    ha ha…. jus’ kid’n.

    13’4″.

PS. I’m so glad David @Liberty showed us how to lower the coach (and I remembered after receiving an encyclopedia of info), it came in handy that day! The bigger problem is not the canopy but the wooden numbers that hang down. We had to drive in between them to make sure we didn’t bump anything.

the people who check you in at Fort Wilderness have no clue what 45 feet means and twice they tried putting us into a site we could not have gotten into. The 2nd time, they even had somebody chase after us in a golf cart, when they realized their mistake.

My advice, what we do just about eveywhere, get out of the bus and walk to the site or take the toad to go there. That will tell you what you need to know before you comit yourself with the bus.

Other than that, it is a great campground and we are going back there in February.

I think that we were in the 1100 loop the last time. It was close to the marina.

    Cheers,

    Ronald

I think that I’m too new here to be an organizer. I’m just getting comfortable being an instigator. I’ll be glad to help, but I honestly feel that someone else needs to be in charge. Give me a little time and I’ll be in there.

Ronald’s dates would interfere with the Everglades gathering wouldn’t it? Any chance moving it up a week or so?

I love Ft. Wilderness and Disneyworld. The German restaurant in Epcot is to die for. Be sure to make reservations. Mickey and I have been close friends for many years. Were on a first name basis.

Thanks everyone, going to try for the 600 or 700 loop. May be hard to get our request as we are travelling with friends and are requesting to be next to or in the same loop as close as possible. The 700 loop can be busy this time of year with the carriage rides. I’ll keep you posted and send pictures once we set up. Anyone going to be there for the Holidays, we are schedule to be there from 12/18 to 12/30.

I actually just found an app Fort-Wilderness-sites. It gives each site, loop by loop and the dimensions.

Glad to know there’s an app Susie and John. We go all the time. 600 & 700 loop we generally stay in as well. We’ll be there next weekend.
