Hey George you got the Hughes BullDog from Hughes now you need the Hughes Autoformer, A couple of years ago we were at ButtonWillow raceway and it was Hot, 105 degrees plus, I was running all 3 roof AC’s and they sounded a little rough and worked OK my volts were 109v leg #1 two AC leg, 112v leg #2 one AC and Aqua Hot electric. Last year we were at Jackson Ca in July and it was 113 degrees and with Autoformer in line, both legs were boosting and Leg #1 was 118v, Leg #2 was 120v, AC’s sounded much smoother and worked way better, It was like a ice chest in the bus. Compressors do not like low volts, Motors in general, Kinda pricey but a lot cheaper then replacing parts.

Very common in the summer, low voltage and summer heat will degrade the use of your A/C’s. Nothing worse than not being able to stay cool and the cause is campground failure to maintain their old wore out power pedestals. Cruisers make it worse due to the high amp usage.

Detroit Diesel 50DN alternator vent line kit, DD part #23528624, or build my own. It’s intended to help reduce oil leaks from the 50DN alternator. Original DD bulletin #14-60-00. Around 2002-2003 and later this kit was installed as original equipment from the factory.

Diesel fuel is up 2.50 to 2.70 a gallon over last year. This is per EIA Energy Information Admin which we truckers and suppliers use as the bible for how diesel fuel surcharges are calculated. The difference is how truckers base their matrix for passing on the cost to the shipper and it gets passed down to the consumer.
The average RVer drives 5000 miles a year at 5 miles a gallon at 5.50 a gallon your spending 25000 more a year. Most in this thread pay more a year to fix cruise airs.
As for the authors of the articles being written about diesel shortage’s look closely most are green leaning environmentalist pushing the EV Agenda. You are already seeing articles about EV jump in sales due to increased fuel costs. In the 70’s they sold alot of Pintos. They didn’t know or care that they exploded on impact. One article attached to another thread calling for shortages is a oil company in W Penn producing 70,000 gallons a day, whoopi.
If you guys are fueling at breakfast lunch or dinner it’s your own fault. Fuel early am or late night and you won’t find a truck around.
We in the trucking business have not gotten any indication of shortages. Unfortunately it is political and depending on where you stand is what you believe.

We are going to disagree. I cringe when I see an open holding tank valve and a sewer hose leading from it. Maybe the coaches you are used to never have poop build in a pile, but on the ones I have had if the tank is always drained of water because of an open drain valve the stuff piles up because there is nothing to carry it away.
It has been repeated often that the best way to keep the holding tank from ending up with a pile of solids is to allow it to fill a fair amount and the high volume of water will carry the solids out. You may disagree, but you cannot change my mind on this topic.
I especially do not want new inexperienced owners to learn some of this stuff the hard way.

What Tom said. My GPS also monitors accidents and can route me around one, but the CB was instrumental in letting me know the bus was on fire so its real benefit is to get a warning about a problem.

They are very handy in parts of the west where safe/fun places to stay can be far apart. As others have said, be sure to call ahead and ask the host if the access roads are bus friendly and can accommodate your length. No hookups and parking is usually in a parking lot. Most hosts will ask for your membership ID.
One great place is a golf course in a nice housing area on the north side of Bakersfield. It is a public course but as nice as most private ones. Well treed, level parking beside a service road overlooking the practice area and gated at night with city police patrols.
Good overnighting spots in Bakersfield are few.

Wanted to post a little update on my Genny Issue. I keep saying it is a Genny issue but in reality it is the motor not Genny head The Genny is out of the Bus and is now a passenger in my pick up truck . I have been searching to find someone to rebuild her Isuzu motor as it seems a rebuild will be needed .
Have not done a compression check however Jeff over at Powertech pointed out a few observation’s pointing to a rebuild . So the search continues 🙂

Hey, Gran……….do I have to point out when I was flying my wing was also moving?
I will admit unlike yours which moves relative to both the ground and airframe mine wasn’t as talented and only moved relative to the ground.
