It would be real easy to be critical of Okie and suggest he amend his ways, but the truth is I have been there, done that and have the tee shirt. And I wish I could promise to never do stuff like that again, but that ain’t going to happen unless I find a way to not let the idiots get to me.

    Jon,

If you find the solution, patent it, bottle and sell it and you will be able to buy as many Libertys as your heart desires.

I have a Kubota and it will occassionally do the same thing. “Have learned over the years to hold the start button for about 5-7 seconds after it starts and the generator will always stay running.” This practice that Larry uses seems to work well for me also.

Just let it crank a little more before you lift up from the starter button.

We got back from MN. (1200 mile round trip) and could not believe what a OEM muffler did to out bus. We had a resinator on for the last 14 years and just loved the the purr of an 8v, now we can’t hear the engine, what should we do?

I have a Davco filter, not a Racor and the filter is 10 micron. Super easy to change, just drain the fuel down below the filter and change it out. Top it off with fuel, fire it up, hold at about 1500 for a couple minutes and done.

Don’t know why, but on other buses when I changed out the Racor, the filter was always black with mold and this always stays clean. Maybe the secret is run it often….

Mark, older engines are much more forgiving to dirty fuel than new ones. The new high pressure pumps and injectors can’t tolerate dirt. What was good for the old engines doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good for new engines. For what fuel filters cost they should be changed the same time you change your oil. For most, oil changes are an annual event.

Yes, I am aware of this. It was our newest engines that only had one filter, all the older ones had two. I always found that funny since the injection process had gotten so precise.

FWIW, I always change my fuel filters at every oil change. Very cheap insurance!

How do you know. Not trying to break your chops, just to note the only way I know it is there is by looking for the switch and actuator “cam”.

It is not noticeable when driving the coach because with the noise of the engine you will not know it is dumping tag air.

These are hard to see I know, my iphone is not
the best at taking photos (notice how I blame the camera!).

The first picture is on the door panel itself
and the second picture shows the fine line scratches by the bay door lock. I’m
not sure how I did the first one but the scratches on the second picture are
from my keys touching the stainless while opening the lock. I’m very careful
now when I unlock the bays. All the scratches on the bus are fairly small and
superficial but it would still be nice to “clean” them up.

Thanks again for all the great info on this fix!

In case someone else is looking for the rollers.

Luxury Marketing Inc no longer represents Cesana.

However, one can still order the parts through Mil USA 1800 527 4498. The rollers are part number 722-99 and are $90 each.

    Hi Fred,

If it’s scratched, you’ll probably have to go a little further than polish. I’ve not done it, but Dale J may jump in here, he has had lots of practice.

    Hi Bruce,

I have the same problem with my H3. I always open the fill cap on the opposite side and still have trouble. The strange part about mine is if I let is get below 1/4 tank I have to hold the nozzle barely on. Once it gets to a certain level in the tank it will take the truck stop nozzle wide open??? I tried to fill at a Flying J RV tank once and it was just as bad. I would certainly like to find if there is a vent problem somewhere myself.

I prefer the Turnpike, in order to get to the Keys( well actually US1 in Fla City) you want to exit at the turnpike extension as you enter Miami/Dade county. Another way thats even a little quicker is to take the Sawgrass which merges into I 75 that will also get you to the turnpike extension,as for US1 into the keys….good luck..avoid the weekends
