Here are pictures of the copilot seat repair.

Remove co-pilot seat from floor mount 4 bolts, unplug wiring, find strong helper to lift seat and move to salon floor, tip on side.

The lower picture shows the 14 inch long lifting assembly for the calf leg rest. Removal from chair takes about 5 minutes and is fairly easy to get at with chair tipped on side. Power is supplied by a electric motor going into the black housing, transmission. The other end is attached to the actual calf rest linkage of the chair with the single bolt. The problem Villa admits is the weight of the calf lift and the threaded shaft. With only 6 threads per inch the transmission inside can’t handle the weight and overheats quickly’ repeated use then chews up the teeth inside the trans.

Villa’s solution has the shaft changed to more teeth per inch as you can see in the top photo. The replacement assembly works a little slower but fixed the problem. Parts were $45.00 plus shipping. Villa customer service exceded expections.

Much better threaded rod, that should do the trick.

I replace our’s a couple of year back without removing the seat. Was tight but doable.
