OP, you may still be able to contest payment through your credit card. It’s something to think about…

That wasn’t even half of them, we’re up to 566 members at present.
The remaining group will go out today, properly done via blind copies.
Sid – Did you get the 100 dollar check I sent?:)

because Ken worked for Coach Worx before they merged with Parliament.
I thought he was much happier at Millennium but maybe not.
Anyway, I am sure that Ken will pop-up here in no time and tell us all about it … 🙂
in the meantime, congrats!
Cheers,
Ronald

I think he has finally snapped folks, polished slack adjuster in one thing, but painted calipers!

Kind fellows,
Here is a picture of the replacement inline check valve that I have purchased to replace the one that I broke. I am worried that the innards of this one are not identical to the ones inside the former valve. Here are the specs on this new one:
Max. Pressure: 500 psi. Temp. Range: -20 degrees to +180 degrees F.
A spring-close design prevents slamming when valves close to stop backward flow. Body is brass. At
least 1 psi is required to open valves. Install in any direction. ?? there is an arrow on mine> Connections are NPT.1/4″ male x male $10.22
And here’s a picture of the (on the right…I have a question about the DOT compression fitting later in this message):
It does say that it has a spring inside, as the former one did, but I don’t think it has the stainless steel ball, and the seat is made of a different material. Will this check valve work OK?
I tried to get one from the place in Minnesota but I didn’t see this malexmale one. I ended up going with this one from McMaster-Carr, referred by Panterra. This one is less expensive but I am not sure it will be adequate to the task. ??
I also looked for the valve in about 5 local places, including a custom hose&coupling house and a pneumatics shop. Nada in stock. So I ended up ordering this one.
Re the DOT compression fitting–I was given this nut and
. But they didn’t give me one of those little tubes that you push into the hose to prevent the end from getting crushed. I need that little tube, don’t I? And a quick third question about releasing moisture from the tank. This moisture release screw (below) is on the very bottom of the tank (duh), very close to the floor. Is it sufficient to loosen the screw? Or does the screw have to come out? I’m hoping the former because it’s in an awkward position. Thanks a lot, Susan

Once he gets the Mangoette’s loaded up and all their gear, I had to carry his camera (it’s huge) in my truck as he was out of room. His goal is a Smartcar with room for 5, including the 2 dogs.

Jon, and Tom, thanks there is leverage in numbers! Gary

Bill,
I manually shift on big hills, both up and down, old trucker habits are hard to break. As for the Jake, select the gear for downhill that will control your safe speed, keeping the rpm high (jake works better at high rpm) and you shouldn’t have to touch the brakes if your Jake is in the high position. We’re in Breckenridge and as an example, Jdub used 4th gear on the big hill west bound and never touched his brakes, the same hill that heated up my tranny temp with the retarder. On all the buses I have had, the Jake never needed any braking action to keep the speed under control, providing you select the right gear.

So does the same apply to the H series with sides since they are a framed unit ?

Ron is on the money. There was a time when this country absolutely dominated the aviation business and slowly but surely we are losing our manufacturing dominance and fewer kids today want to be pilots. This is not a political issue as much as it is a shift in corporate attitudes and ownership of manufacturers from US to offshore companies.
It doesn’t help when our own government piles on.
Rant off also.

Remember folks, he still uses a flip phone!:)

I stand corrected. Still cannot see how moisture can get into a pressurized, sealed system with a dryer to insure none is present.

I’m not sure this is the correct area for this post but on the topic of AC filter maintenance, for those of us with the Prevost OTR there is a stack of three filters over the blower motor on the driver side that should be cleaned on a regular basis too.
