    Paul,

    Yes, they
appear still available on Amazon and eBay and I’m sure elsewhere:

    http://www.amazon.com/Xantrex-Series-Inverter-Charger-SW4024MC2/dp/B000OYZE62/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373039550&sr=8-1&keywords=trace+sw4024+inverter

    I assume
Xantrex service centers still repair these.
Check the Xantrex web site for the service center closest to you if you’re
going to do the R&R, there are three in Florida. If you need someone do to it, I too recommend
CoachWorx, now part of Parliament in Clearwater. I would call Ben anyway and let him verify
you have a real problem or just a simple, you can do, kind of fix.

    I’m not an
expert on your inverter/charger model and know it to be one of the more complex
units. I just did a quick glance of the
manual and would suggest that you check to make sure it’s not setup to sell
power back to the grid. This is under
the configure option of SET GRID USAGE.
I assume that the input grid power is set at 50A (FYI, Xantrex
recommends 60A). If it’s too low the
inverter will supplement what the coach loads demand above this set point with
inverted power, as yours appears to be doing.

My Cruise air temperature readings on the control keypad must be on drugs?. They are off big time. I have followed the instructions in the manual for re calibrating the thermometer readings but it continues to be off. Any further suggestions. I am talking a variation as much as 5 degrees from a comparison to three independent thermometers.

All other functions seem to be normal – I just have to set it at 62 to get 68 at night.???

Advice from non experts are welcome too!

    Paul,

Being in the Tampa area you have assistance at your fingertips. Get hold of Ben Cummings at Parliament / Coach Worx.

    Nobody better.

Paul B, If the coach has an issue, regardless of the extent the entire coach gets the repair with rivets and cover strips.

Paul H. good question and as yet nobody that we know of has had the answer. I do know of a coach that had two previous repairs and which was just given the total coach rivet repair at Prevost’s expense, including paint, but that coach was under warranty when the previous repairs were made.

Delam is an issue to the extent you as an owner have to give up the coach for a month or more and may have to pay for the paint. But if you are a purchaser you can make sure that is done before you purchase the coach. Now that there is confidence in the fix I suspect the entire issue is being blown out of proportion. I think Tom considers the fix to be value added, and I imagine if two identical coaches are side by side, and one of them has been repaired, that one will carry a higher value.

I think he meant don’t look at XL sales because the rivets make delam an non issue on those.

But XLII and H3 coaches are bonded construction and those are the sales to look at.

Trust me, I speak to a lot of people and sales of all models are doing very well right now compared to just a few years ago. And that includes XLII coaches because in the overall scheme of things the delam issue has very little financial impact since Prevost has always stepped up to the plate with only a very, very few exceptions.

    Right on, Tom

With real OTR air conditioning, not only can you raise the blinds and enjoy the scenery as you travel (after all, isn’t that the point with those Prevost windows?), but you could probably open those windows as well and still stay cool if it was safe to do so….

    Happy Fourth!

Check out the size of the numbers on the radio! Easy to read even without glasses. Too bad it’s AM and probably a tube type to boot.

I guess I am not a puriest or I would find a way to drive it myself. Keeping names for the future if needed but I was able to change the trip to allow x3.5 weeks. Going from SW Oklahoma to Maine for the first time in a Prevost – have done that in the fiberglass coach.

    Many thanks for the offers.

Nothing was removed. It came out and went in as one piece. Also, he hadn’t done one in years, so had to figure it out as he went. Still, he could and I couldn’t, so I can’t gripe about the time to figure it out.

As for drawinds….probably not a good idea! I would have had to take about 1,000,000 pictures and would STILL have had to get lucky for the one where it slipped into place.

In addtion to my original post, essentially it was tilted 90 degrees so that the top of the bag was towards the back of the bus. That means that the bottom of the bag was the first part removed, and it came out through the front. The twistings and turnings to make that happen seemed fairly random.

Are you sure that the King dome will use the same mounting holes as the Tracstar dish did? If you have to drill new holes to mount would that make you more ready to switch to a new dish that would be Direct compatible? There is a Winegard HD auto deployable dish that uses SWM that should only need two cables FWIW.

I will turn the aux. compressor off except to place tension on fan belts before starting. Just to be clear, my coach does

not lean after a month of setting but I note the primary and secondary air gauges go down after a few days.

This has got to be the most novel approach to adding horsepower to your bus that I’ve ever seen…..
