Oil leaking where it should not is annoying to me. But I have reached the point where the cost or effort to make an annoying leak go away is disproportionate to the benefit my attitude is to just buy an aerosol can of brake cleaner.

A cost of $5 per can for 2 or three times a year use to flush away oil is an acceptable alternative to the cost and effort to repair or replace some items. I appear to have a rear oil seal leak on the engine which shows as oil on the oil pan driving me nuts every time I change oil, but the alternative is a cost and time involved disproportionate to the benefit.

Why the question because other than tracking my every move, speed, etc. it doesn’t do any thing to assist driving?

I asked as you’ve made a few statements about your concerns that someone could hack an autonomous vehicle. While OnStar has the ability to remotely slow a vehicle, I don’t remember if anyone has used that system recently to hack a moving vehicle.

In terms disconnecting the navigation system, doesn’t OnStar use a built-in CDMA connection to track whereabouts? If so, and if you have concerns, you may want to disconnect that too.

OK, I get it now. I never considered them as pumps.

My first reaction is how do you know the control box isn’t working? There is a very small button on the black box and if you press it you should hear the vibrations of the miniature air pump in the box. If you do hear that it is likely pumping air.

The next step is to insure if it is pumping air that the tube from the black box to the inside of the water tank is not leaking. The air fitting is a common leak source and if it leaking the resulting reading (via the LED lights) will not function or will not be correct.

If it is leak free, the next step is to calibrate the device. The Headhunter web site has instructions specific to the type of sensor. The calibration involves filling the tank which is a colossal waste of time and water. I calibrate my Headhunter sensors in a tube that is sealed at one end and whose length equals the depth of the tank. I then fill with water as described in the calibration procedure. But if the little air pump is not working a new box is needed.

BTW Craig, while you are in there don’t forget to grease the fan belt idler pulley carrier pivot. Everybody forgets that one because it is down low and out of sight.

Well done Ronald, that should help folks thinking about a stacker. Still wondering when you are going to paint or wrap the stacker to match.

I appreciate it. I was thinking I would need to leave due to no longer being a bus guy. Maybe we will see some of you out on the road. I guess I can “Lurk” in the background and chime in on occasions. Maybe on CC stuff on the XL.

If I do see a Prevost at a park, I will stop by. So, don’t be surprised if a goofball comes talking to you about buses. It may be me. Pam, the cats & I are now in a Redwood 5th wheel and pulling it with our F-350 dually.

I’ve looked at their chart before, but I feel a little more comfortable running a little higher psi.

    The Offiical Chart would have me at: 95psi S/ 85psi D/ 80psi T.

    What I run at: 105psi S/ 95psi D/ 85psi T.

I feel your pain Allan the Prevost shops up here mostly work on the passenger Buses when you bring in a high end conversion Bus they have no clue. I take my Bus to a local truck shop these guys have been driving 18 wheelers all there lives after a DOT inspection oil change and service my bill is around $1000 and they point out the problems that need addressing. If you are going down south those guys know there stuff when it comes to Prevost Bus Conversion good luck safe travels.
