1st- engine- last night was late, engine belts were loose…the 3 were running but the 2 over the compressor were not…restarted this morning, managed to keep the belts on and ran the engine for one hour or so…
2nd- none of the lights in the rear panel are on nor the Xantrex remotes…so can’t do anything there…the transfer switch in the 2nd bay is on ….
There is no power in the in the coach at all, not even on the dash monitor.

Tonight I finished my LED Dash Lighting Upgrade. Will post pics once it gets dark.

Well, That wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. the 50DN is out!
Here is what i did.
1) All the work was done thru the access hole next to the bed.
2) Spray with PB Blaster
3) I scraped and cleaned as much as I could to minimize the debris
4) I disconnected the oil feed line
5) I shut off all the house batteries, and removed the field wire, power wire to the VR, and both Positive Battery Cables.
6) Using a 3/4″ socket I cracked the mounting bolts
7) I next put a strap around the alternator and shimmed up a board to take the weight off the bolts
8) removed the bolts
9) lifted the alternator out
10) walked it out the front door and placed it on the work table.
Now I see how the 50DN is driven. I have seen this gear drive before, just trying to figure out why this Behemoth didn’t put out 12 Volts. Easy Peasy.

This is my 3rd detached bus barn, 30 X 50, sewer, (2) 50 amp and water, insulated with electric 12 X 14 doors. 6″ concrete, rebar and commercial fiber. All steel, wanted to do a pole barn, but cost was crazy.

We had an M&G on our 2012 Jeep Liberty but when we bought a 2020 Jeep Cherokee, there was no room so had to go with the M&G 2 braking system. It’s an air cylinder system like Air Force 1 but the pedal connection is not an issue for me. Not sure what the AF1 looks like inside but here’s a pic from their website.

So theoretically, if I unplug all the switches then the circuit is guaranteed open and the dash warning light would extinguish. Correct?

I did the same thing but the charger over heated and melted. So I just got new batteries. I go months without a problem of dead batteries now.

Nice job Don, I think you covered all the bases, time will tell.
Why did you choose 4D at 200 amp hrs vs 8D at 300 amp hours? I assume dry camping isn’t your normal bus use. If replacing the 3 Liberty Lifelines with 3 of the 300 amp hr Relion’s it would give some serious battery power. Just curious, I deal with these scenario’s often. The down side is people usually buy the fact of drop in and there is no such thing. There’s many variables that need addressed.

I support the unit on dash and attach to windshield and when I hit one of the poorly maintained bridge connections it disconnects and fall against the windshield.It is a disappointing feature of the unit but glad to have a hopefully safeguard of low hanging structures to remove several inches of bus for remodel

On our 98 Parliament conversion I have a dash air compressor mounted there.

Tom … if the brake lights are tied to #6/high setting on the retarder, I don’t think there would be much on/off/on of the brake lights.
When I press the DECEL button on the cruise system, the brake lights apparently go on. I use that when I’ve got the retarder FULL ON.
